Texas Bowl: Arkansas vs. Texas
TV: Dave Pasch, Brian Griese & Tom Luginbill
Radio: Adam Amin, John Congemi & Kayce Smith
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Good crew.  I like Griese and Lugenbill will prop us up if we play well on the various ESPN shows.  he is also ESPNs national recruiting director and knows what's going on in that world also.  I watch The Experts every tuesday on college football daily and Lugenbill hosts that show.  he is a good analyst/sideline reporter.

Definitely could have been worse. We need someone that isnt going to call us Wisconsin the entire time

Jackrabbit Hog

Was hoping for Tirico and Gruden in a red tie.  Oh well.

I'm sure it's nothing that a $500 retainer can't fix.  Contact JackRabbit Hog for payment instructions.

One thing about pasch, he'll second guess coaches and call them out for making mistakes.

Here's hoping its chuck strong on the receiving end come 12/29.

So he honed his craft posting on a message board.  How does he know a coach made a mistake? Just because a play does not work, does not mean it was a mistake.

I do like the crew though.
People ask me what I do in winter when there is no baseball.  I will tell you what I do. I stare out the window, and I wait for spring.

Luginbill will talk up the recruiting angle of the game and that should be to Arkansas' benefit.

It'll be interesting to get Griese' take on BA.

it will depend on how BA plays... doubt he'll point out many failures of either Qb... he's too much of a QB man to blame one of his own.

Or maybe he just understands the game enough to know that many times what APPEARS to be on the QB was really a missed assignment, a poorly run route, or sometimes the defense just makes a really good play.

I'd just like an honest critique,.. which can't happen on this board because of the defensive nature of some posters...

How will you determine if Griese gives an "honest" critique?

It's not hard to tell.. good when good, bad when bad. ie.  if the line misses the block causing an interception he should point that out, and so on...

hogsanity, I'm not sure I follow. Don't know what Dave pasch opinion has to do with a message board.

It's pretty obvious when a coach makes a mistake. I.e. clock management, poor play call, etc.

2nd guessing coaches is pretty much what made message boards, I thought that one was pretty easy.

Who is to say any play call was poor? Maybe it was a good play call, and the defense made a play, or someone blew their assignment. One missed block can turn a great play call into a loss.

40 seconds left, down 4 on your own 20 3rd and 15, no time outs, and you run a draw, that is a poor play call. Middle 2nd Q up 4, same spot, down and distance, a draw may be a very good play call depending on how your defense is playing.

What most people want is for the pbp guy or the analyst to say things they agree with so they can then make posts like " The announcers were pointing out ( insert whatever gripe you already had )." It is human nature, we all like it when someone agrees with us. I find myslef doing that with the basketball team. When the announcers point out bad d or poor movement by the Hogs, I am thinking, yea, exactly what I have been saying.

3rd and 10, you have a 4 point lead. The other team is out of timeouts with just over a minute to play. You throw the ball.
Bad play call.

And if you can't admit that, I'm pretty sure you agreed with me when Houston nutt did that very thing against Alabama in 2006.

All I was saying was that pasch is not afraid to call coaches out. I never gave my opinion on whether or not I agree with him, just that I hope it's Charlie strong receiving the criticism rather than CBB. Sheesh.

Horrible play call. Just like Washington deciding to run the ball against AZ when they could have knelt the clock away, fumbled and lost.

My point is just because an announcer says a play call was bad, does not really make it so.

But yes, if any criticism is dealt in that way I sure hope it is about Strong and not BB.

Oh no doubt sanity. I've heard many announcers who I honestly think are less football intelligent than a large majority of their viewers. Lol

Wasn't Pasch the announcer who said "Childs, please!" against Georgia in 2010?

I thought that was Rece Davis on the highlights shows.  I don't remember actually hearing it during the game call.

Dr. Starcs

Oh no. It happened during the game which made it even better. .

I'm usually not a fan of pasch, but that comment was awesome.

Good Crew for this game ! We could have done much worse.
If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

No, it was Pasch, and I remember the color commentator was Chris Spielman, who said something like "you've been waiting all day to use that, haven't you?"

TheRazorbackGuy

Why not Fowler and Herbstreit? Herbstreit loves the Hogs! Put him on!
