Is TAMU losing their starting QB a blessing in disguise?

Seeing what they did to UCLA with him, could TAMU not having their starting QB be the factor that finally allows Arkansas to break the losing streak? Johnny Manziel, Kenny Hill, and Tyler Knight played major factors as starting QBs the previous wins.

You miss the boat.  A four team playoff is a championship.  A championship produces... a champion. You seem to be looking for the "best" team.  The "best" doesn't exist. Best does not equal champion.  Best is a myth.
Opinion polls produce... opinions.

I mean, it certainly helps.

If CBB can't beat them this year...

If he doesn't, I'm done.

Sadly, same. If we lose this weekend, then I'll have to officially get off the bert wagon. I'd be happy to get back on if he turns it around. But I don't see that happening if we can't beat this struggling A&M team.

As much as I hate to admit, losing to TCU put a sour taste in my mouth (mainly because I'm not a fan of Kenny Hill) so to lose to TAMU I think that will be my official "We have to break up. It's not you, it's me" speech to CBB regardless of how the rest of the season turns out.  Well if he wins the SECw I'll think about forgiving the TAMU loss...

It left a bad taste in my mouth because of how we lost. We were only down by 7 late in the game, but I never felt like we were a threat to come back. I don't mind losing to good teams (to an extent) but I do mind not being competitive, like Auburn last year and TCU this year. That's a relatively new trend from CBB teams here, so I hope they buck it.

It really is a big, big game for Bielema's reputation with the fanbase. If you thought the past 10 days has been bad... oh boy, just wait and see if we lose to this A&M team.

A&M is terrible with their current QB situation.  They may go winless in the SEC and this is the best chance we will have to win a conference game.

Mizzou got absolutely destroyed by Purdue.  The SEC is waaay down.

Okay, you may be right...but at least Missouri has a QB who can make plays at the SEC level.

AU struggled with MERCER.
LSU just laid down and bled all over MSU.
Ole Miss lost to Cal.
USCe lost to Kentucky.

If we can't put up a good conference record this year, then a change needs to be made.  There's just no excuse.

No QB makes plays at an SEC level, if you can't protect them or get open.

Right now, we're struggling with both;  Missouri at times, has struggled with protection.

But according to some, it's tougher now than it was in 2010 and 2011...

I agree it is down now, and there is absolutely no reason this team should not be ready to pounce on the opportunity, and win 9-10 games.  This should be the year, all the stars regarding the rest of the west have lined up for us, and we should be capitalizing on this opportunity.  Alas, I fear that we will fail, and the best chance we have had to win 6 or 7 conference games in many years, will pass, and this team will be, yet another, team mired in mediocrity...

This is my word, and as such is beyond contestation.

Yeah. I agree.

The sad thing is if our offense gets to late 2015 early 2016 form it could still be a fun season.

Not so fast my friend. Look at the last game, now that he has his feet wet.

Doesn't look bad at all. He broke all of the records at IMG Academy and scouts say that he reminds them of Deshaun Watson at his age, only faster and stronger.

He could haunt us for four years.

Has AA put up numbers like that this year? Didn't think so...

To be fair to Austin, he also hasn't played a defense as bad as ULL.   They gave up just shy of a point per minute before they played TAMU  (114 in 120 minutes of play)-- and they completely shut him down until turnovers and short fields made his job much easier late in the day.

Arkansas can certainly win this game;  they need only do 3 things-  1) Don't turn the ball over 2) Do not give up big plays on special teams, and 3) Don't get beat by the two quality backs that TAMU uses.

TAMU is awful and we will win easily this week.

This is the year to be good but except for Alabama...every game is a toss up.

This is the weakest schedule we have played in a whole bunch of years...and I include TCU in that group...a middle of the pack Big 12 team.

He has played against one actual major college defense and he was 3 of 17 against UCLA.  He was in the process of stinking up the joint and possibly losing the game against Nicholls when Sumlin pulled him and put in Hubenak.  Now Hubenak isn't 100% so putting him in if Mond is terrible... again...may not be an option.

A&M will be lucky to score more than 10 points unless their special teams or defense put points on the board.  This sets up just like the games against LSU, Ole Miss, and Texas in 2014.  The opponent has a QB who isn't a threat in the passing game.

Isn't IMG Academy only in their 4th or 5th season?

For whatever reasons, every time a team loses a white starter and replaces him with a black QB.....it hurts the Hogs. Saw it with LSU, Miss St and others

Swestwill66

Seems like aTm was starting a freshman quarterback against the HOGS a few years back and after the game he was hyped as a heisman candidate.

I think I'd rather see their entire secondary come down with a bad case of the green apple splatters.
