I actually agree with the ESPN analysts who said this was a great hire for Ole Miss.  In their eyes, Nutt is a proven winner (by overall winning percentage and bowl games) - and a coach who has owned them the last ten years.

The biggest reason Nutt was under so much scrutiny the last couple of years was because of how he handled the Springdale recruits and Gus - and Ole Miss don't give a rat's teat about that.
Too bad they didn't fire his butt last year, or we would still have the springdale crew.  Leave it to HDN to screw the program and bolt.

When you're at the bottom, there's only one place you can go.  He will get them up to decent.  One or two pretty good years out of 4 or 5.
I agree. I wish him luck, but we are much better (and classier) w/o him.

Nutt will get OM to play a heck of a lot harder than they have played recently.  That is one thing we never gave him credit for, that other coaches would always talk about--the hogs effort.  With the added effort, I am sure OM will be  a handful in no time for a lot of the sec.

Nutt will do okay there. not good, though. His recruiting will NOT be good, though, because they don't have a whole state with committed kids.

Gus would make Ole Miss invincible.

rome wasnt built in a day.....but it would have been if gus had been there to run the hurry-up

He'll do better than Orgeron, but not as good as Cutcliffe did there.  He'll be... ready for it?... he'll be mediocre.  Sound familiar?

I think Coach Nutt will definitely help out UM.  They will be better.  More kids from Arkansas will play there too...lots more if we don't hire the right coach.

I'm sure he will improve them.  How could he not?  I think Nutt could make a living as a rebuilder, kind of like how Larry Brown was in the NBA.  He'd make a team good, but never enough to get them all the way.  What we need now is a Phil Jackson-type finisher.  Someone who comes in when the team is improved and take them the rest of the way.  Although, the cupboard might be a little bare right now, it is nowhere near as bad as the level of the early '90's.
