I'll be the first on the Fire Leach! bandwagon.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. Those of you against Leach are not familiar with the situation and are being too quick to judge.  While there are other coaches I would put ahead of him on my list, he has done excellent for the situation he is in.  There are teams like Baylor and Texas Tech that can't compete with the big boys.  We can.  And Leach is an excellent coach.

He did next to nothing at Oklahoma, really.   One year as OC, and their offense didn't take off until Mangino took control.

You people kill me.  Leach wouldn't be a bad hire, he is very competitive every year in Lubbock Texas, and he is an offensive genious.  Just think of the high profile recruits he could bring to run his offense in the SEC.

We're not expecting a $3.5 million severance packaged to be paired with a $2-3 million salary for more 8-4 football.

Well, at this point, I'll take what we get.  To get Nutt's controversy out was the first step.
The distractions he made are not gone forever, but they can be put on the shelf now. 
Whoever comes in better build a contending program, keep their head on straight, and be do what's best for the program first and foremost.
