I wonder if Ed is going to go to the press conference to announce that he's signing an extension and then call out all the local Mississippi media members.

OKhogfan1959

I wonder if Nutt is on his way to Ole Miss? Me thinks they are a serious option for reasons I won't disclose..

Long better get a move on..Take care of Nutt today and quit waiting. The longer we wait the worse it will be..

forrest city joe

Again, we need to make our move and fire Nutt now!

missippihog

The 4th down call yesterday did him in. He was going to get another year until he made possibly the worst play call in college football this year. You have your rival down 14-0 and have all of the momentum. You go for it on 4th and 1 on your own side of the 50 yard line with 9 minutes left. He didn't get it and this gave MSU all of the momentum in the game. This was THE nail in his coffin.

AubFaninArk

Where will Thompson go?  Warner might not be a bad OC

Just reported on game day. ESPN.

destinflhog

Espn just announced Oregeron is gone.

HognotinMemphis

That's surprising. I know the chancellor at Ole Miss and I'm shocked he allowed this.
I don't want you to agree with me because you're weak. I want you to agree with me because you know I'm right.

Nutt will interview for the job, he's the Mississippi champion!
Houston Nutt can go from SEC coach of the year in 06 to
coach at Ole Miss in the time it takes USC to score against
Reggie Herring's defense!

He went winless in the SEC in his 3rd year.  Anybody should be fired for that no matter what the situation is.

Until he had to suspend 20 players for stealing towels from a hotel.
I need your truthful reply - lie, I will know it... and death will be no respite.

josh_sec33

but but but....he had the vote of confidence.

;)

Honestly, wasn't expecting this one this year.

On a scale of "DGB is a Hog" to "Bobby had a girl on the back of that bike," how sure are you?

So it has come to this.

Ole Miss has higher standards that UA.

Imagine firing a coach based on his performance.
It really is this simple. Unchecked government power leads to corruption, and lack of accountability for it is drastically eroding confidence in our institutions.    aristotle

Yeah, except we have never gone 0-8 in the SEC.  You can't even come close to comparing the two situations....

I give up....call me when hooten is done with the hogs....when he gives them back to the fans...let me know.
sometimes it's a good and some times it's a schit

Ole Miss has higher standards....?  come on there is a big difference in O's performance and Nutts

So, Nebraska, A & M, Old Miss, SMU, and Baylor all need coaches.  That possibly means five more vacancies as HC's play musical chairs.  If Nutt is out, we'd better'd get with it or the best out there will be snapped up.

I don't think that the best coaches are going to go to SMU, Ole Miss, or Baylor. And I think that plans are in the works at all the schools and much unlike our admin. they prob. have their first choice already in the fold. Lets hope that Nutt is in the fold for someone.

Go Hogs Go. Cut the Nutt.

Sanctified Swine

Nutt would be a good fit at Ole Miss. He would definatley be an upgrade.

Poker_hog

that sucks for the rest of the SECw
Sometimes wrong, but never in doubt

I said in my commentary this morning, we can not play a waiting game. to many jobs are open. i hope we have our new coach already.but Nutt needs to go now.

pigsooie1000

what an absolute disaster of a hire.  You fire David Cutcliffe after he went 44-29 and 25-23 in the SEC and look where you are now.  0 SEC wins and 0 coaches on staff.

WBChogfan

Exactly.  There is no excuse to go 0-8 in the SEC.  I don't care whose players you have.

The AD should also be fired. How do you get away with firing David Cutcliffe and then have the results they've had the past 3 years? What a joke.

We've gone 2-6 with the only wins being against the Mississippi's...... so yeah,  it's the same thing.

Ya. I get that. 3 years isnt long. Thought he might get a fourth year. See how is players were as Jr's. But they were really, really bad, again!

It wasn't going to happen for coach O. What bothers me is all the schools making moves yesterday and today and we sit by twiddling out thumbs for next week. Gotta make a decision one way or the other. If you get rid of Nutt we really need to get a big name or an established head coach instead of an assistant which is always a high risk...see Coach O.

Going 4 and 4 in the SEC with the talent we had is like going 0-8!  Only saving grace was yesterday!

Chad In Real Life

Its not too suprising, because he sucks.

Im sure they're thrilled about letting go Cutcliffe now
Fundamentals are a crutch for the talentless.

"An early list of candidates to replace Orgeron include Arkansas coach Houston Nutt, Auburn defensive coordinator Will Muschamp, Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Rick Neuheisal, Texas Tech coach Mike Leach, Houston coach Art Briles and former Texas A&M and Alabama coach Dennis Franchione."
And in the 10th year, the Razorback faithful finally fired Houston Dale Nutt! Preach this, brotha!

No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Semper Hogelis

Again. Someone with the "We should have done better with the talent we have". You mean with the talent we have in the backfield. You need to consider a weak defense, and a average QB at best. The people that thought we were going to have 10+ wins just because we have Darren, Felix, Hillis, and Monk were forgetting about losing 6 really, really good folks from the defensive side of the ball. You can score 50 on people every game, but if they are scoring 51. Guess what.

BINGO.  They made a huge mistake when they fired Cutcliffe.  IMHO.

So you truly believe that on the day we beat the number 1 team in the country we should have fired our coach? You don't think we would have been ripped on every national program if we did that? Can't you wait a few days and see if this works out to our advantage, like Nutt chosing to leave?

Nuttcracker, Sweet!

if that's what it takes. I've heard he and Sexton were looking at that job if it opened. Make it happen. Hootie is an equal opportunity helmet-lover and he could learn to sing Dixie in a heart beat.

I just heard from an Ole Miss friend of mine here in NWA and he said that if Nutt is hired at Ole Miss it will "shake his beliefs in God and humanity."

Tell your friend the Lord works in mysterious ways and that His ways are not our ways.   Also tell him you can't trust humanity. ;)
