anyone have one? its a $600 option on my new engine, trying to decide. heard they have a cool down period if you have a hard time getting it started or with any extended use.

Gotcha  Long story but I put three on the Saratoga in one month in 2006  The shop I was using at the time was partly responsible. Another painful and expensive story.

After the third failure I ended up taking control of the calls to Sky Tech myself.  I got lucky and ending up speaking with the son of the owner of Sky Tech.  We had quite a round and round interesting conversation. I have a lot of experience in winding  and magnet wire in general with motors and transformers.

Make sure you get the model that is advertised with the heavier magnet wire made for flight schools. If you still have my number give me a call and I will fill you in.
