Quote from: TNhawgfan on Today at 09:06:33 amIf 1B catches the ball, we probably get out of the 8th with the lead. That got to Gabe and he let the pressure get to him for the first time all season. I don't think it's a wall

Scott Cline squeezing him didn't help either. You could tell he was frustrated with that tiny size zone for our pitchers vs for MSU.

Quote from: HogBroker on Today at 10:40:34 amSo were the announcers last night Mississippi State homers? I couldn't believe my ears when they were going on and on about how perfect and consistent the strike zone was last night. Sure looked like it was in favor of Mississippi State from my vantage point. Does anyone know what the trackman data was showing?

Cline may have been doing a good job on calling balls and strikes on many pitches.  ABs like Stovall's late though showed real inconsistency.

Jaylen Wells: from overlooked contender to shining star at Washington State
by Gianna Cefalu

QuotePULLMAN, WA- From Sonoma State to Washington State, forward Jaylen Wells has made an impressive name for himself in Pullman.

His journey to get to the power five level, however, didn't come easy.

It all started in Northern California. The Sacramento native shined at the division two level. He led the league in scoring, and was also named the conference player of the year.

"My freshmen year, I was more of a driver. Sophomore year, I started to shoot more. I think my three point percentage went up by 12 percent. This year, I went to more of a shooter and I turned into more of a midrange," Wells said.

"Washington State, as soon as they reached out to me it felt right. Coach Wayne, he's also from Sacramento, so we had that connection there. It just kind of of felt like home."

Whether it's in practice or in the games, Wells continues to master his jump shot. He learned the technique from a coach back home.

Wells is also no stranger in being the underdog.

"Coming into high school, I was 5 foot 8, so I wasn't really the best. JV, I was probably 16th man."

"I grew to 6 foot 6, I was playing point guard averaging 30 points and 8 rebounds. Even averaging all those points and rebounds, you'd think you be recruited. I went division two, didn't have any division one's reaching out. I'm a person that's like if you can play, they're going to find you."

WSU certainly found the right player.

Quote from: Philip Seaton on Today at 10:28:52 amNot going to quote last post, too long ... but once you do revenue sharing you are making them employees of the state (unless private school). You think schools and state governments are going to take that on?

We will eventually see the Arkansas Razorbacks a separate entity from the University, much like club teams in Europe. The separate entity will lease or purchase facilities and continue on. Title IX will no longer be an issue and many female and men's non-revenue teams going away to fewer focused teams (do we really need 60 plus college sand volleyball teams?). Either universities will be places of education or athletics factories. This will be happen sooner rather than later.

You better not forget to protect the ones you already have on scholarship

It seems almost every team in DI football is searching for DT depth

No matter how big or how highly ranked a team is, they still seem to be searching for a few 'big ole boys'
