Wow. Can't wait to go to South Bend.

Pretty campus, but you'll be scratching your head as to why a top tier, Ivy League type school is seriously in the middle of nowhere......(seriously, there is nothing around South Bend for a hundred miles except cows, corn, and grasshoppers)

Shucks, I was looking forward to going to Grand Forks...............

Awesome. I love them both.

As do I. Very excited about this game.

Until it's cancelled last minute. And they put Arkansas state on their schedule.

Awesome

most fans don't realize how close we came to playing them for the Natty in 1988
Or in 1969...or in 1977.
If it ain't broke, fix it till it is.

Supermark101

People joke about them canceling, but if they go all in with a conference, before then, they'll have to cancel someone.

I seriously doubt they ever come to Fayetteville.

But I get to see the Hogs play in South Bend, so that'll be cool, regardless.

TBA - at Boston College
TBA - at Miami, FL

TBA - Syracuse
TBA - USC

I'm very excited for the chance to play 'em.  I think they will come to Fayetteville.  Even moreso if we go up there and stomp 'em.

I love how we are deemed an "iconic" program.

So, since there is "no chance", according to HV that ND every comes to Fayetteville, it's just a ploy by Long to sell season tickets for 8 years so that you'll be guaranteed a seat for this game that won't be played?

That actually happened going into my junior year up there. Still pretty bitter about it, tbh.

Why the five year break?  We'll probably never get that return game, ha.

We might be hoping that to get the pay day I assume they put in the contract for not honoring.  I think Michigans was north of 3M

Michigan was $2M, and they'll show up, we've got beer and they're Irish.

But, Arkansas' luck, by the time the Hogs play them they will be a Top 10 program again, just like Texas in 2021 probably. Hope we can win one of the two games versus the Irish.
WPS!

Well, ND usually only needs to be about .500 to be ranked in the top 25 so...
If Auburn is dirty so is Gus. You can't have it both ways. Deal with it.

This is good.  If we are going to schedule a "name" program, scheduling the most consistently overrated team in college football is a good thing.

My thought as well. Always has been my pick for OOC

I have a friend who is a ND alum. We've been to a few games there and it is truly a bucket list trip for a college football fan.
Yes it is. I was there in 1990 vs Miami, 1991 vs USC and 1992 versus Penn State. Great atmosphere. My step father has been a ND booster for over 50 years.

I agree completely.  Would be hard to beat as a top game of the week and potential game day game both ways.

I have no interest in going to see us play Kansas either home or away.  I want to see good teams and exciting games.  I love the fact we are trying to find some teams out of our area.  Maybe the Pac 12 or ACC are next. Bring it on!

I prefer winning, but to each his own.

You really ought to know the definition of carpetbagger.

A carpetbagger is someone who comes down south, robs us blind and then leaves.

Long isn't leaving so that just makes him a damn yankee.

Well I suppose you'll have to then 'cause these days one often doesn't know what will some folks off. Besides, there are some really silly/non consequential things some folks are willing to fight over.

I absolutely hate Notre Dame but they have one of the most iconic football stadiums in the country.  I am glad I will finally have a good excuse to go to a game there.
