Austin Cantrell: X-Factor
« on: May 18, 2017, 06:59:24 am »

SEC football fans know the stars. Players including Kellen Mond at A&M and Devwah Whaley will emerge.

Every SEC team has at least a few future stars. It takes the players in between to win at the highest level. Those guys are the “X-factors” on their respective roster.

Quote
On power runs, Cantrell must function as a sixth offensive lineman. However, Hogs tight ends also caught 124 passes over the past two years. Cantrell is next in line to become an All-SEC tight end.

He's an x-factor, but I don't think he'll factor as much in the passing game as O'Grady and Patton will once he arrives in the fall. One thing is for sure, Austin is a hell of a football player.

I don't think he will factor in so much as a receiver but as a player.  Cantrell is an accident (for a defender) waiting to happen.  He reminds me of Peyton Hillis.

I'd love to see Cantrell in the h-back role picking up blocks and catching passes out of the backfield.
