Can we get a new DL coach too?

Speculation here (granted, the source seems to have as much info as any of us do) that Segrest could be next.

Taking it at face value, though. We have our man at A-State. Greenlaw's dad, Brian Early. Can pay him a fair but very modest salary to save money for new DC. Former FHS DC and admin asst for CBB before A-State gig. This guy studies film better than anyone I have ever seen; the ultimate schemer. Big believer in tailoring scheme to maximize your players' talent. Had one of the best DLines in CFB this year. They had like 15 TFL's in their bowl. Crazy. Anyway, I don't see it getting worse - and at least we would be saving money but with more upside. Recruits well too.

(Note: Hijacked another thread with these stats a couple months ago, but thought I would share again since some may have missed and now may become more relevant)

If we go Dline it's Partridge.

Early might be a candidate if the 10th Asst gets approved

Early has also coached LB and SP before.

tophawg19

here is a good choice for D/C and D/L .I'd take the whole staff

I would actually argue the reverse (though do agree) - if we could get Partridge, we would go DLine. That is, if Partridge told CBB he would come then CBB would be insane not to do what it takes to open a spot for that. Maybe we can are just waiting to allow Segrest to find a job.

So Segrest is good enough for an NFL team but not an NCAA team???

Hogeration

He should have gone back to the Eagles when he had a chance.  If he really had the chance.

Doubt we'd ever hire a coach straight from A-State. As silly as it may be we like to pretend other schools in the state don't exist sometimes

Were Lunney to move on we might take him, for obvious reasons

Less teaching to do in the NFL.  They do more breaking down of film and motivating.  Also no recruiting so yeah he could be a better fit there.

The DL production was pathetic. They had plenty of talent, and had little production.

Yep, could explain Anderson's struggles.

Fred Samford and the EMU. Very weak college experience between the both of them.
Little known fact, but prior to settling on Guantanamo, the Pentagon wanted to house terror suspects at War Memorial Stadium.  It was deemed to be cruel and unusual punishment and in violation of the Geneva Convention.

We need never to let Lunney move on.

Was going to say the same thing - that this is basically the best job in the country for a TE coach. No one will outbid us, pipeline of TEs, and he's a Razorback.

But I assume he was referring to him getting an OC job

Porked Tongue

FYI, Early is Dre Greenlaw's dad by adoption.

He was also on staff for one(?) year at the UA.

I was.  You have to think he's bound to sooner than later, especially after hearing BB put him out there as a good OC prospect in a presser.

And the ASU fans wanted him gone his first year, but he had no depth and had to play freshmen.
