Quote from: Deep Shoat on Today at 05:03:51 pmAnd White has actually improved in conference.  But we were certainly expecting more from him when we brought him in.

White is really becoming a productive hitter all around. He could hit .350-.400 from here on out and carry this team and it wouldn't be out of no where.  Let's hope he does

Ouch, who got their panties in a wad and deleted that post? Was going to clarify one of my obvious points and someone didn't like the opinion enough to let it ride. Too close to home

Quote from: Spocksbeard2112 on Today at 07:14:54 pmThe hitting doesn't matter til the tournement... we hit great going into the tournement... we won the sec tournement going into the tournement.... how'd that end up?

Just focus on winning the next game. Sure try and turn the hitting around, but worrying about the performance up to now is useless. It could all change with the snap of DVH fingers.

Good  discussion though. Good posts. I enjoy reading. I am just taking the position of "it's working out this time"  😀

Hitting matters up til now... and what we have done has us in a good position for a national seed. Just win the next game

LSU not buying players?  When did that stop?

Quote from: CDBHawg on Today at 03:34:32 pmYou think we'll only have 10 scholarship players?

Cal has pretty much said as much and other elite college coaches are saying the same.

Quote from: Razrpig256 on Today at 01:00:26 pmI disagree. They've been extremely average since Nate left with multiple losing seasons. They've had a few good offensive players since then, but none to the level of that loaded 2015 team.

It just doesn't make sense to me how he got those guys who mashed to go to friggen Missouri State, had really good offenses here early on, and now we're putting guys like Bolton, Rowland, Polk, Wilmsmeyer, Edmunson, etc. on an SEC roster. It's mind-blowing

It was a relatively small number of "dudes" wasn't it?   And they developed or grew into it, I do t know enough to say he got them there with competing with sec type schools recruiting them

Quote from: Hawg Red on Yesterday at 07:50:37 pmFYI, Cal had 12 scholarship players last year and one of those was Joey Hart, who many considered to be walk-on quality. He played just 10 minutes on the season, barely out pacing a couple of walk-ons. So I absolutely believe Cal when he says he isn't filling all of his scholarships. I wish he would get creative and sell someone like a Tucker Anderson on possibly redshirting this season and jumping into the rotation next season, but that ship appears to have sailed. I agree it is best to have scholarship-caliber players on the bench at all times, but it does seem as though the elite coaches are going away from this.
Hart went to Ball State out of the portal. Right level for h8m. He did win the team dunk contest as a 6'5" guard. He was equivalent to Pinion.
