Quote from: Hog66 on Today at 01:30:51 pmThe pace of play is a problem on weekends when the hackers come out and try to play the whites, or heaven help us the tips. I remember Hognitive Dissonance saying it's the longest 6000 yard course he's ever played.

My buddy is almost 20 years younger than me and he plays the same tees I do. There are times he can drive it further than I will at my age. After one booming drive I asked him what he was going to do when I move up to the reds. He said he's moving up with me lol.

Probably close to half of the regulars play the browns (senior tees) regardless of age. There's plenty of golf course from there and why add exasperation to an already tough game?

The idea of tee boxes by age and sex is pretty much old thinking. The USGA saysyou should decide what tees to hit from based on how far you hit your 7 iron, not how old you are. Anything less than 130 you should probably move up from the whites.

I play sometimes with the old men who go off every morning and they all play from the reds. That's a little too short for my liking. I'm hitting gap wedge into almost every green from the reds. I've shot some really good scores from up there but it doesn't feel right. And the whites at Nutters surely don't feel right for me. I say play the tees that match your game. You'll have more fun.

It's just free market capitalism. Why is it ardently defended at every turn - except in college sports?
I support the free market system.
BUT it does have restrictions on unfair practices that restrict some from partaking of that freedom.
We have reached the point of that being true in college sports as those with the most money are restricting the rights of others.
If this continues, Arkansas will be one of those left out.
What we see happening now is a certain few, those with the most money, are closing the door of opportunity to most of their competition.
That is not what NIL was to be about.

As much as I hate any Hog team losing  -  the fact that they can go home injury free and work on some things that need to be addressed - I'm sort of OK(ish) about this one.  But if it is more of this next week then we got a problem!
