Tennessee AD Phillip Fulmer firm on Vols' football uniform selection process

Phillip Fulmer said the Vols' football uniform combination will be decided by coach Jeremy Pruitt, and Nike will not have a say in the choice of colors.

"In the end it's a coach's decision, and that's where we are," Fulmer told SEC Country last week. "There's been no decisions on any of that.

"As soon as recruiting is over, we'll have time to talk through those kinds of things."

Tennessee did not wear Smokey Grey uniforms when Fulmer was coach.

Alabama's secret Nike extension that's never been reported and doesn't hold up to the big money deals other schools are getting:

Alabama's deal that runs through 2025 is worth $63 million in apparel and cash plus a $5 million signing bonus. That works out to $5.25 million a year compared to $18.7 million a year for UCLA and more than $16 million a year for both Ohio State and Texas.

Alabama isn't even among the top 20 in apparel deals as Nike, Adidas and Under Armour went on a spending spree in the years after the 2013 deal kicked in.

Tim Tebow finally reveals what happened to his 'bloody' FSU jersey from 2008


Interesting story here.

During the 2008 season, Florida QB Tim Tebow beat rival Florida State 45-15 in a rain-soaked, messy game.

The iconic images from that game involve Tebow's jersey stained red — not with blood, but with paint from the field (and possibly a little bit of blood, who knows?).

During a chat with FOX Sports' Urban Meyer, Tebow revealed what happened:

"That is a heated (game), a lot of words exchanged beforehand, it's a rivalry game. I've got to be honest. After that season, it never got touched. It got hung up. And then the student body at the University of Florida got together and we were trying to raise funds for orphans around the world. We appealed over and over to the NCAA and they finally let us host a banquet where we could raise money for orphans. Before my senior year, we had this banquet. ... We had this auction at the end of the week and that jersey went for a quarter of a million dollars at that auction and then they turned around and gave (the jersey) back to me. So I still have it, and it's ready for another auction soon."

State special edition Adidas Ultraboost shoes now on sale

Each year before the season kicks off, a number of fan bases are treated to special edition shoes from the various shoe manufacturers. Adidas is launching a special set of shoes featuring a number of notable college football teams. Mississippi State is included in this list, so as of just this morning, Mississippi State fans can now purchase the 2021 special Mississippi State edition Adidas Ultraboost shoes.

One thing I do like about these shoes compared to other special edition team shoes that have been released in the past is that these shoes are a bit more subtle. The logos on the tongue as well as the heel tab are really nice touches.

Did State miss a NIL opportunity in trying to generate shoe money for their own depatment?
