Here is the 5th annual "What, when and where" Veterans Day post.  Take a minute and share with the rest of us about your service.

I said...LSU has often been an overrated team.

Flying DEWLine missions in Northern Canada was very interesting.

I'm just glad to still be alive and rooting for the Hogs (My name is the in the sidewalk just east of Old Main.)

I flew often enough, I still remember word for word the take off conversation.
Eng-ART-Ready for take off?
ART-ENG-Slides attached, Emergency lights armed, passengers buckled, cargo stowed.  ART ready for take off
ENG-ART cleared for walk around
ART-ENG No fires, no loose equipment, no emergencies aircraft secure
Eng-ART cleared for power up
ART-ENG Thanks Eng will notify of any power or cooling issues
ART-ASO IFF and RADAR configured and ready to transfer control. Reciever XX and xmitter XX look like best option.
ASO-ART please transfer RADAR and taking IFF.
ART-ASO thanks ASO-let me know of any trouble and give a heads up for AR please.

I'm told that's part of the Vietnam era but I never left the States, was never in harms way, and the only time I picked up a weapon was to qualify on the range.  So while I served please give your thanks to those who flew the missions and waded the rice paddies.

Haha I was thinking the same thing.  Been in service for that long and only mentioning the most recent accomplishments.  Should have been involved in the last 100 years of conflicts.  Humble much?  ;)
