Incredible.  Blaine has to be leading the nation in strike outs to walks ratio.

Thirty-something innings pitched and only 2 walks with 41 K's.  Holy jeez.

I don't know that I ever remember seeing a college pitcher with those stats.

There was a pitcher from Florida a couple years ago that had absolutely insane numbers. Comparable. Can't remember his name.

He was, going into Friday's games (scroll down within the link to see the list):  http://www.ncaa.com/stats/baseball/d1/current/individual/590

I don't follow baseball recruiting.  Was Knight a big time prospect? I guess what I'm asking is was this expected? Love an Arkansas kid showing out.

I believe you're thinking of Hudson Randall.

I remember Eshelman at CSF had a 25:1 with over 100 innings.

His K/BB dropped to 20.5 with the walk yesterday. The two pitchers who were just behind him did not pitch last night as both games were postponed.

That's the guy. Just looked at his numbers, 73 KS to only 13 walks. But Knight is on a far better pace.

Knight is having Nola type dominance right now.

To repeat what JHicks said in the game thread yesterday, Knight is still leading the NCAA in strikeouts-to-walks ratio.  The link below doesn't account for last night's games, but Knight almost certainly increased his lead:

After looking through all the individual stats on the above link, I found it very interesting that the Hogs only had players in a few of all the categories (2 of them were Blaine Knights in his strikeouts-to-walks ratio).  With that said, it really shows how well DVH has this squad playing like a true team with little emphasis on the individual stats.

As of April 3, Knight still leads the NCAA in K/BB ratio as well as BB/per 9 innings. Koch is also listed in the top 50 of 3 offensive categories.

Enjoy him while you can.....After a season like this, I don't see him coming back for his junior year.

What makes you say that?  Is he a DE Sophomore?

Yeah, he turns 21 on June 28

I mean he may very well come back and improve his stock.....Who knows.

He is very much flying under the radar right now (moreso than Benintendi), but yeah, he could easily be a top 2-3 round pick this year if he keeps it up.  The good thing is that he has a ton of leverage at his disposal as a sophomore and is setting himself up to be a 1st round pick next year.

He's 99.9% gone. Barring injury.

For once I was hoping someone on hogville was lying about being in the know.
