Word around here is he has been getting attention lately from the Mississippi schools and LSU, and that was prior to his 55 carries, 412 yards rushing, 9 rushing TDs, 1 punt return for TD and 1 passing TD performance against Olive Branch last night. Through 7 games prior to last night he has ran for over 1400 yards with 21 TDs.  4.4 GPA so grades aren't an issue.  4.33 speed.  Not a big kid though at 5'9" 185ish.  Also, DCHS plays in the highest classification here (6A.)

Alan looks real fast.  HUDL says he runs a 4.33 40.  Even if he runs a 4.4 or 4.5, that is fast.

I'd love to see the Hogs take a look.  Excellent grades, maximum effort on film...  Just the type player Arkansas should want in its football program.

Thanks for sharing.

I've seen him play a few times and have came away impressed each time.  Look at his twitter account, definitely fits the #Uncommon mold CBB looks for.  Here's his tweet after his state-record performance last night.

Seems pretty reckless of a coach to run a kid that many times in a game. Could be a underated get like RW3 was for us.

55 carries, huh? That makes me pretty mad

Desoto Central really doesn't like O.B.

Probably a statement as much as anything.

Just be the best person that you can manage.  Right Now!

Very true, not many around here like OB.  Lamar is pretty much all DC has though, so he gets a lot of touches.  Also, keep in mind the game went into 3OT.

Local radio said he is definitely a D1 prospect but don't have him as an SEC level prospect.  Their guess was a service academy.  There is still a lot of season left and of course this is only their guess.

RB with that speed can play SEC ball. if only as a specialist on 3 rd downs and kick returns

As mentioned in other threads, depends on where Hammonds will be projected and slotted at by coaches. Best shot right now seems to be Kyle Porter and Pennamon is officially visiting despite OM commitment. This kid could end up getting a lot of late offers and I wouldn't mind having this kind of speed and change of pace in our backfield. Worked with Korliss Marshall and don't have anything like that now. Need 2 backs this class, Evans isn't cutting it and Day hasn't been healthy to show if he can cut it.

Just following up on this kid.

After 9 games he's sitting at 33 TD's, 240 carries, 2,022 yards @ 8.4 YPC, 224 YPG.

Has been clocked at a 4.33 forty at a camp, 4.4 GPA - his GPA is higher than his 40; tell me when that ever happens lol? 29 ACT, 39 inch vertical, leg pressed 900 pounds. Shifty, but quick to get upfield and not afraid to throw a stiffarm or lower a shoulder when needed. Also pretty good hands. Absolutely unbelievable stats. TD every 7 times he touches it, and he also plays defense! Going against quality competition too. The kid is a gamer and obviously has his head on straight, and the kind of guy that after a RS year would be the real deal. He has plenty of room to add some bulk, even though 190 at 5'9 isn't bad. I've seen plenty of short RBs be highly successful. This article says 12 schools have offered and high D1 starting to take notice, Stanford is the latest http://www.clarionledger.com/story/sports/high-school/2015/10/10/desoto-centrals-lamar-no-ordinary-running-back/73746430/

I would take a serious look at this player Arkansas needs players with speed every where.

Anyone know if he's on the radar?  If not, someone needs to send his tape to the recruiting director, like yesterday.  He fits the mold we are looking for.

sickboy

Kids got a really impressive stiff arm for a guy who's 5-9. Really fluid hips with a lot of cutback ability. Plus he's got 15 offers. I know they're not top level D-1, but if you've got 15 sets of coaches seeing something... there's something there. Plus he's got offers from Columbia, Yale, Cornell, Bown... the kid is clearly intelligent.

I'd keep an eye on him if I were this staff. I know he's small, but he could be a steal.

This.  Someone send in a tip.  I'm sure they've been in some contact, but just in case....

The Hogfather

He sounds like a perfect fit for us.  He is certainly UNCOMMON, on the field and off.
