No. 5 Bulldogs mowed through the Commodores, reaching the end zone on their first four series en route to a 48-3 rout on Saturday night at Sanford Stadium.

It was the worst margin of defeat for a Vanderbilt team since a 48-0 loss to Tennessee in 2003, and it was reminiscent of the Commodores' last visit to Athens — a 43-0 drubbing in 2010.

Quote"We're worried about ourselves, and if fans want to react negatively, then they can do that. There's nothing we can do about that," Vanderbilt receiver Chris Boyd said. "But we know as a team, we're much better than what we played tonight."

Jordan Rodgers got the call at quarterback after not getting a snap in the win over Presbyterian a week earlier when he was replaced by Austyn Carta-Samuels. Rodgers had started nine games in a row before getting benched, but his presence on the field was a mere footnote in this lopsided contest.

Vanderbilt coach James Franklin said he was pleased with Rodgers, adding that what he did "made sense." However, Franklin said the quarterback job will remain an open competition.

Vanderbilt declined again to make Rodgers and Carta-Samuels available to the media after the game.
