Being from Baton Rogue, he really wanted a scholarship from the University of Louisiana State. He committed to Arkansas University, and now he might sign with the College of Oklahoma.

Again, our conference isn't exactly killing it on offense.

Well, like any team we could always use blue chip DL prospects to immediately contribute but that ain't happening. Instead we have got a ton of d linemen already on the roster, many of whom redshirted this year or last year and will really be getting their first chance to contribute this year. Losing one low three star recruit doesn't change much at all. Nothing desperate at all.

We had a ton of guys waiting on the o-line and we see how that turned out.

Maybe, or maybe the SEC has overall better defenses that skew the numbers.  The inverse could also be true bad defenses could inflate offensive numbers.  After looking at the stats for total offense; the SEC and the Big 12 both had 7 programs in the top 50.  Admittedly the Big 12 teams had a higher rating.  While looking at total defense the SEC had 5 teams in the top 50.  The highest ranked Big 12 defense was KSU at 51.

We have had success putting together strong Dline classes in recent history. This year, however, it was a little rough. I think we have some depth on campus, but hopefully filling this class with JUCO stand ins will suffice. I bet we add a couple between now and Wednesday. This isn't ideal, but like Murphy says, "Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong." Now let's do something about it.

BJ Thompson got bumped to a 4 Star today on 247, I know our coaches don't give a damn about stars and what sites rank players but maybe this is an opportunity for him to get a late offer?

Johnson is pretty much the only name we hear about, and the tea leaves say we've been slow playing him.  So basically none that we'd consider better than James.

Why?  What's wrong with those kids?  I would imagine if he was going to get fired he already.  I can't imagine an SEC West school would willingly go through these last very important weeks before signing day with not only an open FT coaching spot on defense but also a lame duck coach on D as well especially when all our remaining targets/needs are on D

It isn't that he was rated high, it is that he is the only guy at a position fans perceive as needing a recruit (especially a freshman recruit).
