I have recently moved to Arlington, TX where my Internet provider does not provide ESPN 360. Does anybody know any good workarounds to get access? PM me if necessary.

Find a buddy with 360. Have them turn on remote access. Connect to their PC, make sure "This is the default gateway" is checked.

While you're connected, all your Internet requests will go out through their gateway.

HouTxRzbck

Change your provider to AT&T U-Verse when you get a chance if they have it in the Dallas area.

If you found one that works and it's borderline legal or technically illegal or the least bit underhanded, do share.
Little known fact, but prior to settling on Guantanamo, the Pentagon wanted to house terror suspects at War Memorial Stadium.  It was deemed to be cruel and unusual punishment and in violation of the Geneva Convention.

All I can tell you if you have internet By AT&T you should be able to pick it up for free. ???

bigpigonthehill

I am going to try looking the game up on Ustream, [CENSORED], or some other social network and see what I can find. Man that would be neat if I could see it for free.
How the hell did we wind up like this? Why weren't we able to see the signs that we missed? And try to turn the tables. Nothing is wrong, just as long as you know that someday I will. Some day, Some how. Gonna make it alright but not right now. I know you're wondering when.

So is ESPN 360 Free?  If not, what is the monthly?

It's a broadband network accessible by people who have certain internet providers.    The internet provider alone determines whether or not you can get access.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Here's a new theory I have.

It appears ESPN360 has Remote Access which lets you sign up for an ESPN account and 'sync' it to your provider.  So if you somehow 'borrowed' someone's ESPN username and password who has ESPN360 then I guess theoretically you could then watch it anywhere (except from Arkansas due to the black out.)

baydor

www.[CENSORED] might have it.  It is a great site if you want to pass time.  Usually has alot of NCAA and Pro games on it that you normally wouldn't get in our area.  The quality is fairly decent also.

A.K.A.

Find an AT&T hotspot or borrow a family/friends ISP that has ESPN360 free access, or even have someone that has it do it for you.

Create an account on ESPN360.com website, then after you do that login and choose the option to sync that account for remote access. Log out.

Go to your home with your ISP that doesn't provide ESPN360, go to the website and login using the account you created with the ISP that has free access.

Enjoy ESPN360 access.

ESPN360 is in itself, just a website that serves content. Your internet provider is the one that allows access or blocks access to the site.

The Router?
or where?

If you have Windows, it has a Remote Access feature. Search Help for "Remote Access" on the buddy's PC. He'll need to enable it in Windows; if his router has UPnP turned on, it ought to auto configure.

Once all of that is done, you'll need to add a connection to his PC from your PC. Search "Remote Access" on yours for those directions. The trickiest part is finding out his IP. Have him go to http://checkip.dyndns.com/ on his PC, it'll tell him what his external IP is. He'll give that to you and you'll use it when you setup your connection.

Finally, on both his PC and yours, be sure to disable the checkbox that says "Require encryption". You won't need it for what you're doing and it'll just add more overhead and latency to the connection.

If you've done everything correctly, and if he's got a decent outbound (upload) speed (at least 768k), and you've got a decent download speed (ideally, as much or more download speed than he has upload), then you'll be all set.

I didn't say it was easy. If it was easy for you, you'd call YOURSELF HogGeek.

Can I refer questions to you in the future in case I ever need you for any computer-based advice?

I don't need it now because I have Comcast and can get ESPN360 but you obviously know what the hell you're talking about.

I didn't assume he had close proximity. The buddy could be a thousand miles away. Just coordinate these settings over the phone or email.

The 360 sync account feature is great, but they'll probably only let you log in with a given account from one PC (this is theory, not established fact). So if your buddy has it and he's planning on using it, that would probably preclude you from logging in with the same account from a non-360 ISP.

Doing the remote access thing, both streams (yours and your buddy's, assuming you're both going to watch the game on 360) will be originating from the same IP. It would appear to the ISP as if two computers in the buddy's house were both watching the game, which is fine with them. Bear in mind that if the buddy IS going to watch the game, it would be better if he had a much faster connection, preferably twice (or more) as fast as yours both up and downstream.

If the buddy had Uverse or cable and was running 10Mb, he could possibly support two or three guys piggybacking on his remote connection.

Another possibility for this is if the buddy has PPV, he could put a Slingbox on it (if he had one; they start around $150) and you could share it that way. Configuring Slingbox remote access is much simpler than PC remote access, FWIW.

Finally (there are dozens of ways to do this), if the buddy has 360 and a PC with a composite or S-video output, you could plug THAT into a Slingbox and share his PC screen.

Anyway to find an AT&T hotspot other than just driving around?

Also, if I am watching the game out of state, but have remote access to an Arkansas Internet provider, should I expect to be blacked out for the Arkansas game?

Are you still doing that, when we do it with any of ours, or even use Iphone to tether, we get a leased cellular IP -> 166.xxx.xxx.xxx which espn360 doesn't recognize.

Can you confirm this is still working?

bosshawg38

Just went to an AT&T hotspot at a Barnes and Noble and was unable to load ESPN360. I do, however, have access to an account remotely linked to an Internet provder in Arkansas. My only worry is that I will be blacked out if trying to use that account.

HawgFan26

I describe the process in another thread of how to get 360 without the proper network.

I have Cox in Van Buren and I can get 360 on my computer.  I am not going to search for the thread, but you can if you want.

nlrwildcat1

I have remote acess too but since its an arknsas ip adress is going to black it out

iPhone tethering is how I did it. Connected phone to comp, loaded up espn360.com, registered, merged. Unplugged my phone logged back on with cox and it worked.

It is free just sign up if your ISP makes it available.  They will list AT&T & others that make it available.  There is a Other selection which mine was & it connected to my ISP.
