That and UW is very underrated.

They are a 4-seed.  Not too underrated.

There weren't that many people that picked UW to win this game alot of people and even the guys at the ESPN went with Miss. St.

Table Rocker

That means they're 12-16th best team- I disagree with that.

Then they're dumb.

They MIGHT deserve a 3-seed.  That's AT BEST.  12 or 13 is about right.

Table Rocker

Well we disagree, I think they have top 10 talent and can play with anyone.

The Hogfather

I want the SEC to win all their games and picked them to win the other two games.  But, to pick MSU to win this game, is setting yourself up for disappointment.

Obviously the #12 team in the nation could play with anybody.  But, you said they are very underrated.  I disagree with that.

hogman1974

Every single year I get lulled into a false sense of security with a couple SEC teams in the tourney.  Whether it be Tennessee or LSU.  This year I have Miss State going 2 rounds because they were playing well.  Ugh.  SEC blows this year.

What?  I already said I picked Washington to win this game.

axedawg

I haven't read the entire thread...just seen your last post.

The Hogfather

I picked LSU and Tennessee to win their first round games and MSU to lose to Washington.

axedawg

Sucks to be losing this one.  I completed 14 brackets between Yahoo and ESPN and up to this point I am perfect on 12...ummmm...GO STATE!!    :'(

Wow, that's profound.

Thanks for the sarcasm. We could always use more of it.

Expect it more often, if you keep making statements like your last one.

A team down by 18 points, with over 12 minutes left in the game, can't buy a basket, and you go with, "MSU is getting blown out.  If they don't start making some shots, they'll get beat by 30.".

The Hogfather

Maybe I should've just gone with, "Thanks, Captain Obvious."

That's why I didn't use it originally.  He didn't like my originality, so I thought I'd give him something more his style.

Same boat for me.

Just think about it for a second.  MSU wasn't going to make the tournament, until they went 4 games in 4 days at the SECT.  Then, they promptly get sent to Oregon to play their 1st round game, against a top 15 team, that some say is underrated.  How could you be confident in them?

jcmojica23

Everyone but me and 3 others picked picked Miss St. in my group and theres about 50 people in there...

The Hogfather

Then that is just SEC homerism.  This is the game I thought the SEC had no shot in.  I thought MSU might keep it closer than this, but lose in the end.  Instead, they're getting blown-out, which was very likely, under the circumstances.

That's an odd group.   Not a lot of objectivity there, obviously.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

This game reminded me of our game vs. USC 2 years ago. Long trip to west coast for local team equals loss. I got Wash going to the elite 8.
Woo Pig.

I picked Mississippi State to go to the sweet 16. Uhhh, I guess I don't sh*t.
Washington showed how to handle Mississippi State - man handle them. I respect State, but they got out maned. The refs seem to allow a very physical game also.

elksnort

The victory by 12 points or so, looked even worse than the score.

me 2. should be a good game between them and purdue

The Hogfather

If you want a good 13-seed with a shot against a 4-seed, look at Portland State.  They're playing in Boise, ID, with Xavier travelling from Ohio.  They have 4 starters that average more than 10 a game.  They beat Gonzaga and lost to Washington by 1 point earlier in the season.  That's a live 13-seed, not MSU.

Precisely.  I don't get that.

ah well, they got further than even I expected of them after mid-season and they can treasure that SEC Tournament Championship hat and t-shirt for many years to come.   ;)

MSU would have a losing record in the Pac-10 and Big East and ACC in Bball.
Notice how bad it feels when we say to other teams in football that their team would win 6 instead of 10 games. Well here is the truth, SEC sucks at bball and its not just us. It is Florida too. 2 back to back NC's and they can't even sell out their arena or make the tourney the last two years. Bball in the SEC is a joke. The Big East is the SEC of bball.
And these are the guys that sent us down the crapper in the first SEC game of the season ? My god, how bad were we ?
