Bama's 27-14 win over Arkansas earned a promotion in the weekly coaches poll.

The AP poll saw the Crimson Tide drop two spots from eighth to No. 10.

bama's next opponent, Texas A&M, moved up to No. 10 after sitting idle last week. No. 5 LSU is the Tide's only other remaining ranked opponent with the Tigers coming to Bryant-Denny Stadium on Nov. 7.

The Tide is the highest-ranked one-loss team. It is also ahead of six unbeaten schools including Florida (No. 11).

Ole Miss tumbled 11 spots to No. 23 after being upset by undefeated Memphis, which climbed to No. 17 this week.

Alabama, which will host LSU on Nov. 7 in a game that could determine the SEC West race, moved up one spot to No. 8 after knocking off previously undefeated and 10th-ranked Texas A&M in College Station, Texas.

Tennessee moved up a spot while enjoying a bye week. The same goes for Arkansas. The Vols are getting set to take on rival Alabama in Tuscaloosa this week, and the Razorbacks will host Auburn in Fayetteville. Arkansas maintains a slight edge over Tennessee based on the Hogs' win over the Vols in Knoxville a couple weeks ago.

The SEC placed only five team's in this week's coaches poll, and Texas A&M fell out of the rankings completely following a 23-3 loss to No. 21 Ole Miss.

The panel is chosen by random draw, conference by conference plus independents, from a pool of coaches who have indicated to the American Football Coaches Association their willingness to participate.

10. Auburn (4-3): The Tigers lost a heartbreaker in four overtimes to Arkansas. Auburn fought back from a 14-0 deficit and got an admirable effort from running back Peyton Barber, but weren't able to pull it out. The defense wasn't able to get a stop in overtime, which was costly. Auburn is now 1-3 in league play, leaving it last in the SEC West.

14. Missouri (4-4): The Tigers have lost four of their past five, and there aren't signs it's going to get better soon. The Tigers have scored a combined nine points in their past two games, emerging empty-handed despite the defense allowing only a combined 19 points in those two weeks. Until the offense can get on track with true freshman QB Drew Lock leading the way, the Tigers will find wins hard to come by.
