Is anyone a part of an investment club? My brother-in-law is part of one in his town in Kansas and he really enjoys it. I'd to join one but I haven't been able to find any good info on one in NWA. Does anyone know of one up here?

The fact that you can type the words doesn't stop the thought behind those words from being horseshit.

is this like the women's murder club?

just kidding.  is this like a stock market deal?

It where a group of people pool money together to invest in various securities. Generally rules are drawn up and regular meetings are held. Each person is tasked with doing their own research and presenting their recommendation to the group. In my bro-in-laws group, the money they make goes to pay for a  trip for the group during the year.

I ran one where I used to work...lots of fun and a great way to learn.  Start your own with a bunch of friends or co-workers.

These folks have the National Association of Investment Clubs:

This is another good site for individuals:

Were you all successful in yours? How many participants did you have?

We actually were doing quite well but then had to liquidate abruptly at a very bad time.  Over half the members were co-workers...then one day I started my own business and became a key competitor.  Oops.  :)

We still landed about 12% per year.

We maintained 12 - 14 members.  That was probably an ideal size.  Everybody stayed involved and felt like they knew each other.
