Loved his energy and quickness. Shot may be ugly but Ronnie Brewer's mechanics were wack and he did fine. Wish Layden the best.

Quote from: RWQ on Today at 03:00:26 pmI'm not trying to dampen anyone's enthusiasm. I'm excited about how our recruiting is going thus far.  I just know that my experience as a Razorback fan tells me that when we decide to spend too much time picking at another program, it usually ends up biting us in the rear.

Cal coming to ARK assures the rivalry with KY is amped up at least X 100.  If our fans want to have some fun and trash talk a little, big deal.  Let's enjoy our good fortune and then see how things play out on the court.

Quote from: hogwood on Yesterday at 07:27:57 pmSo I grew up in Fayetteville but went to high school in Ohio outside of the town where Eric and his father were born. His dad's first coaching job was at Ashland University, about 15 minutes from me. I went to high school with a few Musselmans, and for a short time dated a girl whose mom is a Musselman and is Eric's first cousin. Her mom looks basically like the female version of Muss - so much so that they could be siblings. Many of the Musselmans I know have the quintessential Muss look - small with angular facial features, etc. I'm still in touch with a few of them. I could ask if they know anything about their lineage.

FWIW Darke County is on the entire other side of the state, north of Dayton and on the border of Indiana, but maybe they moved back east at some point.

Wow, look at this. I had no idea that Ohio was in their past. I looked up Darke County (what a great name for a creepy FX TV series), guess that made a good stopping off point before moving to Indiana. Die Vater Kimmerling ended up 67 miles straight west of Darke County. Must've been on a wagon train route or something.

Yeah, ask them if they remember ol' Uncle Hiram (wait, wasn't that a soda in the 40s and 50s?).

Quote from: StanHog on Today at 07:11:14 amOne clue could be if you're 4'8" tall!

Not far off. But the biggest disconnect for me is Muss's 0% body fat. Mrs. Muss, Elizabeth, and my great grandmother were sisters, so I don't share any DNA with the Musselman side. They reside as distant in-laws.

Understand... but just the shear number of top recruits that are coming in with the expectation of more to come.  I know the main contributor to how quickly they are coming is because Cal already recruited them to UK, and they are simply switching to us, so I know it won't happen so quickly in future years.

I'm also projecting to the next few years where I figure we will pick up several 5-stars each year (or super-high 4-stars) as opposed to the one special year led by Nick Smith, Jr., Black, and Walsh.

I don't care where they come from but it sure would be nice to find a good three-point shooter who's not a liability on defense.

Quote from: stronguard on Today at 03:03:45 pmHey, not gonna quote everybody.  But you're getting "talent" and "experience" mixed up.  Mark and Battle were seasoned upperclassmen.  Of course they look better RIGHT NOW.  But to say Blocker wasn't in the top 7 is ludicrous, I'm not sure I can take you seriously regarding basketball if you TRULY beleive that.  You have to be able to project talent in the future and Blocker had the highest ceiling of anyone on our team IMO.

That being said, landing Fland probably sealed the door shut on a reunion.

You're splitting hairs over definitions.

He might have the highest ceiling but his probability of reaching it are low.

And he certainly isn't as talented right now as Makr and Battle.
