Redshirt junior guard Antoine Mason to leave Niagara, will be eligible immediately

Mason averaged 25.6 points per game.

Danuel House one of Houston's top two scorers and rebounders, transferred out of the program in mid-April.

The 6-foot-7 House was scheduled to visit Texas A&M this week. The Aggies lost their top scorer, Jamal Jones, in early May. House previously visited South Carolina with UCLA and UNLV also recruiting him.

LSU guards Josh Gray and Keith Hornsby, who sat out last season due to NCAA transfer rules, have spent the past week working out with House in Houston.

The sophomore forward averaged 13.6 points and 5.7 rebounds per game for the Cougars last season. He is currently the second-best available transfer, according to College Basketball Talk, behind former West Virginia guard Eron Harris. House has two years of eligibility remaining after he sits out the 2014-2015 season.

UK is no longer in the hunt for Eron Harris.

Georgia Tech and UGA are possible destinations for Maryland transfer Charles Mitchell, the former basketball star from Wheeler High School.

The 6-foot-7 forward is the fifth player to transfer from Maryland since the end of the season.

Mitchell has a top five of Georgia Tech, UGA, Auburn, Alabama and the College of Charleston

Houston has commitment issues.  Harris came to them, was a stud, and left.  House was probably their first 5 star recruit since Olajuwon and he didn't stick either.  I would feel bad for them, but since Kelvin Sampson is running the show I really don't.

Former Georgia Tech forward Robert Carter Jr. has decided to transfer to the soon-to-be Big Ten school. The 6-foot-8 Carter, who had already visited St. John's and South Carolina, posted averages of 11.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game as a sophomore in 2013-14.

Former Providence guard Josh Fortune visited LSU on Tuesday, one month after Providence said he planned to leave the Friars program after two seasons.

A native of Hampton, Virginia, Fortune was a two-year starter at Providence. He has already visited Colorado and reportedly is considering Minnesota and Valparaiso as well. Fortune will have to sit out the 2014-15 season as a transfer and will have two seasons of eligibility left.

The 6-foot-5, 200-pounder played 33 minutes per game last season when he averaged 8.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. He improved from the floor, shooting 41.4 percent (35.0 percent from 3-point range) after making just 32.7 percent of his field-goal attempts as a freshman...

Jurkin didn't see much playing time during his two seasons at Indiana due in large part to leg injuries...

The hope is that McClellan, who averaged 14.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game in 12 contests last season, will be able to take the court at the end of the fall semester. But there are some issues to consider, most importantly McClellan's need to take care of his remaining coursework...

C.J. Barksdale will not return to the Hokies next season.

Forwards Trevor Thompson, Maurice Kirby and Marshall Wood and guard Ben Emegolou have already left the program this offseason, leaving just five scholarship players returning.

Buzz Williams has done a fine job turning over the roster, however. He's added four freshmen in the class of 2014 as well as a handful of transfers, and with a pair of scholarships still available in 2014-2015, he may not be done yet...

Fulton coach Jody Wright said he's `disappointed' at the way Miss. State has handled Jalen Steele's situation. Steele needed 18 hrs to graduate from MSU. He didn't. MSU didn't apply for a medical redshirt and cut Steele off from academic and medical support despite 2 ACL according to Wright. `Mississippi State didn't care if the kid made it or not. They've made it very difficult for Jalen,' Wright said.

Steele reportedly transferred to MTSU.  At the time State said his career was over while Coach Wright said Steele was at full strength.

Will Alabama commit Jonathan Ledbetter flip to UGA at Friday's "Dawg Night" prospect camp?

His older brother, Joe Ledbetter, is hoping to join the football program at Alabama or UGA. He's applied to both schools, and has already been accepted at Alabama. He's waiting to hear from UGA.

Joe Ledbetter is a former Tucker tight end who has played college basketball the last two seasons at Pfeiffer, an NCAA Div. II school in North Carolina.

Joe hopes to follow the same type of path of Jimmy Graham and Antonio Gates, college basketball players who switched to football late in their athletic careers.

Southern's Calvin Godfrey has left the program, sources confirmed to NBCSports. According to ESPN.com, Godfrey has received his release. He will be able to play immediately pending a graduate transfer waiver from the NCAA.

Shane Hammink is headed to the Hoosier State.

On Monday afternoon, Valparaiso head coach Bryce Drew announced that the Crusaders had signed the LSU-transfer and Dutch national to the program.

"Shane will be a great addition to our university and basketball program," said Drew.  "He is a left-handed perimeter player who has very good skills with the ball.  He also uses his size very well to rebound and pass.  His playing experience overseas should be very beneficial for when he arrives on campus this fall."

He played 10-12 minutes per game for LSU.

Memphis had landed Calvin Godfrey -- a talented power forward who transferred from Southern and is eligible immediately, source told ESPN.

Godfrey began his career at Iowa State & was dismissed for marijuana. Eligible due to Southern University's APR issues. Will help frontline.

Kedren Johnson denied by Stallings, not Vanderbilt

Johnson said Stallings gave the news to his father, Curtis Johnson, that Kedren's Vanderbilt career was over about 10-15 days before his university suspension was set to expire.

Vanderbilt announced on Aug. 15 that Johnson and fellow guard Dai-Jon Parker were not going to be allowed to return. Johnson was under a year-long, non-academic suspension handed down by the university that caused him to miss the 2013-2014 season.

Elizabeth P. Latt, assistant vice chancellor of news and communications, confirmed that Johnson was eligible to return to Vanderbilt this fall.

"I wasn't happy about it — I can say that," said Johnson, who has decided to transfer to Memphis. "But at that point I didn't have much of a choice. I just had to make the best decision for my family and my future."

Stallings did not respond to a request for comment. Curtis Johnson could not be reached for comment.

Former CSU point guard Jon Octeus has been denied admission to UCLA, sources close to the situation told the Coloradoan. He was unable to get into graduate school.

Octeus had planned to transfer to UCLA for his final season of NCAA eligibility this winter and was expected to be the Bruins' starting point guard. As a junior at Colorado State University in 2013-14, he averaged 13.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game, helping the Rams to a 16-16 season.

UCLA doesn't begin fall classes until Sept. 29.

Octeus, 6-foot-4, 170 pounds, had taken official visits to Missouri and Cincinnati and had been recruited by Tennessee before he committed to UCLA. Oregon could also be in the mix. He graduated over the summer and would be immediately eligible to play next season, wherever he lands.
