Monday Morning Quarterback / Re: Lest we forget

Back to the video. The two key things different this year than last is Bobby and Mateos. Both experienced and should keep the team going in the right direction.

I am excited for Fall camp to see how much improvement was made over the Summer. I like seeing TG take his line out to eat. Hogs+ filmed them at Wrights wolfing down BBQ. Those guys will kill to protect TG.

I know they used to make a big deal about BA doing this but I don't recall hearing KJ doing it. He may have and I just didn't catch it.

Quote from: onebadrubi on Today at 03:23:43 pmNo way does it continue on the current path.  At some point boosters are going to be bid out of their comfort range and say Hey School, you have billions in endowment, you have to start to contribute.  It's a slippery slope to a catastrophic end at this point.

The most interesting thing to me is going to be how the Arkansas money folk contributions trend over the next few years, as applicable and in conjunction with the evolution of the NIL playground. Tyson, Stephens, and others stepped up big for basketball to get Cal and presumably enhance our NIL program near term.

You have to wonder whether a recent heavier donation hand in basketball cannibalizes the same funding in football? Whenever the Pittman and Petrino experiment runs out of gas, some folks are certainly going to mentally lean on ol Chicken Man and others to step up and help get a football coach in the same way that helped basketball. IMO, we have been really stupid in the way we have overly communicated the funding sources of landing Cal and the rumored NIL funding pool for Cal to recruit with. It's as if we walked into a car dealership and announced, "I want a car and can spend up to $5 million for it" and somehow think we're going to be able to get a great deal. You get the sense that we've set ourselves up to see a lot more open palms while relying on the same few people to keep putting something in them.

He's for sure going to where the bag is biggest.  Doesn't matter where it is.

Quote from: brog43 on Today at 03:58:59 pmLet's not go all full Kentucky here and say we didn't want this kid after all, he would've been a great get.

Hopefully this means that Cal is walking the walk about having a better mix of youth and experience and that someone like Aidoo is truly lined up. Having that experience from someone who has been in the tough situations will be invaluable to a team of all new faces.

Same applies for Davis from FAU, have that mature, battle tested vet next to an exciting young talent to maximize both

Love to have him, but if Aidoo is in serious play and it was one or the other give me Aidoo.

Quote from: SEC_Hogs on Today at 03:36:53 pmAre we still in the mix for Jayden Quaintance? I saw something that said he took the Hogs off his list of tops schools. I hope that's not true. That kid looks like a beast. I was really hoping Cal would land him, especially considering we'd get two years with him.

Quote from: Kevin McPherson on Today at 03:44:04 pmJust made massive updates to OP ...

* Former UK commits Boogie Fland and Billy Richmond to visit Arkansas on Wed, April 24

* TN's All SEC transfer big man Jonas Aidoo to visit Arkansas over the weekend of April 26-28

* Arkansas has reached out to Duke freshman transfer and former 5-star recruit TJ Power

* Hogs no longer in play for Jayden Quaintance

I know I sound like the Kentucky fans in denial, but Jayden is the least of my worries.  He will be great, but selfishly, I'm not worried about what he looks like at 21.  I want to get a veteran proven big man who can come in now and compete.  Give me Aidoo

Man, I hope its not Louisville. They are a literal **crapshow**  and supposedly their football recruits are bouncing to the transfer portal because their NIL checks are also supposedly bouncing.

Bold strategy Cotton let's see how that worked out!
Oh yeah 4-8 and he got fired

I have my doubts that happened. More like Sam covering his big butt and his buddy Kennedy.
