Bucknell will be the second game of the season.

Bison went 26-9, beat Vandy in Nashville, won their league, but lost to W Virginia in the big dance by six.
2 SEC titles, 4 SEC West titles, 28 NCAA Tournaments, 6 NCAA Super Regionals, 8 College World Series
THIS...IS...BASEBALL!

I'm loving this schedule. It will help the freshmen grow up that much quicker before conference play rolls around.

Pinto

Very solid schedule so far. I hope the football team helps these couple of months go by quickly

razorhead94

Wow this schedule is outstanding.

Time to get some revenge! I like it.

Non-con will be challenging, we will find out pretty quickly what we got.

Bucknell returns their key contributors from last season.  Fresno mostly does as well.
Quote from: MaconBacon on March 22, 2018, 10:30:04 amWe had a good run in the 90's and one NC and now the whole state still laments that we are a top seed program and have kids standing in line to come to good ole Arkansas.  We're just a flash in the pan boys.

Also might add these types of games will bring people to the arena as well.  Better competition....better games....more people.

Doubtful if it's before football season ends. These schools may impress those of us active on hogville, but Troy, Bakersfield, and Bucknell the common fan has no idea who those guys are, and that they have good basketball programs.   We scheduled impressive midmajors like UT Arlington and SFA last season, and it didn't put many extra butts in the seats.

Hate them suckers for knocking us out in 2000-something.

No haters here, but props to them, they were just doing their job. Just beat 'em next time.
That was the game that soured some folks on Stan Heath.
Arkansas had all kinds of talent and athleticism advantage on Bucknell and could run 'em to death, but Stan refused to play anything but Big 10 ball.
Me...just do what the situation calls for. That game called for turning into a more up-and-down game...some games requires you to play half-court to win. Do what it takes. Be flexible.
Stan's stubbornness cost that game. We walked the ball up the court and played right into their hands. Never pressed, never did anything to force them out of their comfort zone.

Love the add but hate the game placement. Second game? Dangerous.

Go Hogs.

Ugh, that loss in the tournament to them was one of the worst played games I had seen from a Razorback team at the time.

Yeah, having all these games that are great for SOS is wonderful. But the most important thing is we still have to win.

Hopefully the veteran leadership we have can help overcome these early games as we get the Gafford, Hall, Garland and CJ up to speed.

All I'm going to say is CMA and staff must feel really good about their team. They have always been more conservative when scheduling teams. Always tried to schedule games they could win and one or two that they knew would be a grind.

They've loaded up this schedule which tells me they are really liking what they are seeing.

I think that is very possible

I'm excited to see where our SOS will rank.

Agreed. Thinking this as well.

There is a fine line between challenging your team and making it too difficult. A very fine line, I'm sure.
I already thought the schedule was tough enough, so they can quit adding more games like this.
I will NEVER trust a Hog team can squeak into the NCAAs with 15 losses like Vanderbilt did last year. I thought that was a joke.
So I want a schedule that's manageable to keep it under 10 losses.

Only if we win.  The step up in competition, if it brings losing, will not drive turnout.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Definitely cannot have a slow start where the team is trying to "find" itself. Gotta come out of the starting gate firing on all cylinders. Barford and Macon are going to be a delight to watch this year, I believe. Plus, Cook and Thomas are going to have to shoulder up and be ready to help Trey carry the load. Can't all be on Gafford. I'm nervously optimistic because this team could be in for a break out season but a stumble would be a real downer.
