You should ask JJ Watts and Baker Mayfield if they agree with you.

Quote from: #1 STUNNA on May 07, 2024, 10:17:35 amSome Mocks have 4 Arkansas guys projected in first round next year.

Anyone know the highest amount we've ever had drafted in 1st round before?

Quote from: PorkBilly on Today at 09:25:10 amThis is a free site. Parents, recruits, and fans from all over read this stuff. Please explain how constantly insulting the head coach relative to his ability, physical appearance, or his support helps the program. How does proudly notifying everyone in every one of your posts that you "give nothing to NIL" help the team when almost every post here laments the lack of money? Fake fans.

Have you ever been on Twitter, Facebook any social media at all?

This place is child's play compared to that! The recruits and parents have eyes and brains they know what shape the program is in they are not oblivious to the staffs shortcomings.

Who is talking about anything other than his coaching abilities or lack there of on here? I guess I haven't seen it.

Who says I don't give to NIL? I don't give to football I dropped my season tickets and donations because it's not worth my time and money but i am an Edge member. That's my choice to make.

I didn't put the program in the situation it's in it's not on me or any other fan, donor, alum. The administration did this to the football program and if they want money they need to take steps to fix it not the other way around.

You have to speculate to accumulate!

Quote from: Darren DeLoach on Yesterday at 10:57:35 amCoach literally stated he may only take 8-9 with 10 being the maximum.

Wants GA's and assistants that have played pro level ball and can practice with the team.

Tongue-in-check. Good thing he didn't say on the sane podcast that good point guard is worth $10 million dollars, some would believe that too.

Quote from: ChitownHawg on Yesterday at 03:11:16 pmWhen was the last time you saw injuries requiring you to go to the 12 or 13th man?

You remember two years ago? Nick Smith and TB getting hurt? Just an example.

Now, you get into game action and two players foul out. Even with 13, you are down to 9. But now try that if your roster is at 10 as some of you think, then you are down to 6 scholarship players. Close game goes into overtime and two more foul out. You can't play the GA and the walks on have to play. You lose that close game and the same people on here saying you don't need 13 scholarship players will be the first to be complaining that Cal didn't fill out his roster.

Cal said at his presser that final roster would not be taking shape until the draft stuff was settled. This impatience leads to silliness. He will probably go with 12 and save the 13th for someone falling into his lap (late summer coaching change, etc.), and I have no freaking clue just common sense, but regardless, patience young grasshoppers, patience.

Quote from: Johnnie5 on Today at 08:50:02 amAnd i would play Edmonson over wils all day long. Atkeast dude has competitive AB and puts ball in play. Wils is a strikeout machine, wils is fast but not elite defensivley. He has made some head scratching decisions. If Diggs is out give me Holt in CF, JJ in RF, Edmonson/lovich in Lf

He's pretty elite in defense! He reads balls like a true outfielder and makes pretty much every play look routine when they aren't but his speed and ability to read a ball make it look easy

Monday Morning Quarterback / Re: Portal team for Pittman

Quote from: MuskogeeHogFan on Yesterday at 05:13:25 pmThe problem with some of you who can post nothing but what is negative is that you seem to think that those who post with hope of improvement are somehow blind to the facts that we have seen, including the results of last season. We all saw the same thing.

Some of us just hope for improvement for now but trust me, if the Hogs don't make a bowl this coming season with noticeable improvement throughout the season, your dream will come true and Sam will most likely be let go.

The thing for most of us is that we want the Hogs to be competitive and successful regardless of who the HC might be. There are others who simply have an agenda against Pittman and want him gone instead of holding out hope for what is best for the Hogs as a whole.
To the few naysayers Ive talked to its just kind of sour grapes.  They are mad because they pounded their chest after the 9-4 season and was ready for Arkansas to win 10 or 11 games.  We all would have liked that but it didn't turn out that way.  Some of that may be the learning curve for Sam.  Some of it may have been internal coach/player disgruntlement.

Either way, I have not gotten to the point of hating Sam.  I think he's made mistakes.  But his heart and love for the Hogs are all in the right place.  I'm hoping Petrino will help this team get over this hump so to speak and the program will finally start the upward projectory most anticipated after 2021.

In either case, Hunter and all the coaches know who is running the team now, who will be gone in a couple years, and who wants to inherit the program as HC.  All are on the same page.  If they are not, then changes may come sooner rather than later.  Everyone is aware of that, but team attitude I see is good and upbeat with the coaches and the players.  Injuries will be our biggest foe more than anything else.  Stay healthy and I believe this team has players that will be playmakers and in the systems will succeed.  How many wins it translates into for 2024 is anybody's guess.

I think Wagner an Pryor with one more shooting guard would have this team set barring a couple long term injuries, however I think you need to put bodies on the bench with the remaining vacancies, be it great players or just guys that has some ablity.

Holt
Stoval
JSL
Aloy
Mclauhlin
Diggs
Wilmsmyer
DH depending on matchup
White

Holt and White interchangeable... in the one and nine spot.

Id probably ride or die with Souza at DH. Tough decision.. but his potential on any given swing makes that decision for me.

It is worth noting that A-State uses the Portal to fill unexpected gaps that the Portal for example creates-they are a developmental program built around recruiting and developing HS talent, and this year are looking for backups not starters. This  is reflected on the post spring depth-chart on another thread, where only three of the 13 transfers that join them at mid-term are listed as starters. That may change if some of the players they have committed join them, because they have some really talented players committed.
