He's already had a "reboot" this season, but the Wildcats' coach is going back to the original, when he announced a mystery tweak before the 2014 SEC Tournament and that team launched an unlikely run to the NCAA title game. This team isn't struggling nearly as badly as that one at the time, but "there's something that's not quite right that we've got a few days to try to fix," Calipari said Monday.

Kentucky (26-5, 16-2 SEC) won eight consecutive games to close the regular season and win the outright league championship, entering this week's SEC Tournament as the No. 1 seed, but it also fell behind by double digits in each of the last three.

"We're still not where we want to be and got a couple of practice days here to get some stuff tweaked and get us to have a little different mentality as we approach games," Calipari said. "But I'm loving the fact that this team has learned to fight, that they stuck together when things looked bleak and they just kept going and had a will to win and all that stuff."

In the 32 years since the NCAA Tournament expanded to 64 teams, only three national champions entered the dance with a double-digit winning streak – and the longest winning streak coming into the tournament by an eventual champ was 13 games by UCLA in 1995. Exactly half of the NCAA champions since 1985 entered the field coming off a loss, including each of the last three and four of the last five.

Kentucky is on an eight-game winning yet their AdjEM rating (and ranking) has dropped slightly over that time. A seven-point home win to LSU is partly responsible for that and that's a good example of the measurement error of margin-of-victory.

Kentucky led the game from start to finish and by as many as 25 in the second half. The Wildcats win probability (adjusted for the difference in both team's ability) never dipped below 99%. The Tigers closed the gap in a meaningless part of the game and fooled my primitive computer and any others using margin of victory. Alas, there are always things to improve.

The SEC appears to have four bids locked up in Kentucky, Florida, South Carolina, and Arkansas. Vanderbilt is attempting to become the first 15-loss team to get an at-large bid and would put themselves in position to do that with wins over Texas A&M and Florida.

At the 2016 SEC Tournament, visitors spent an average of $268 per person in Nashville, and nearly 16,000 hotel rooms were booked because of the event, according to the Nashville Sports Council. In its previous four trips to Nashville, the SEC Tournament has yielded an average of nearly $18 million of direct economic impact.

Tickets are still available. All seats are $15 and general admission. Ticket books for all 13 games cost $360 for the upper level and $435 for lower level, and they are available through SECticketoffice.com or the 14 schools' ticket offices. To buy single-session tickets, try secondary online markets like StubHub.com, SeatGeek.com and VividSeats.com. Scalpers also will surround the arena with available tickets.
