Pretty Pathetic!  None of our guys even looked like College players compared to Baylors.  If we truly missed out on the Big man Baylor got......what a loss......and not getting AJ Walton...Another huge loss.   And where the heck did baylor get such a good young head coach ???

donkey

We're a little better than a highschool team.  We're a sunbelt team with a sunbelt coach.  Though that will get you about as many wins as a high school team against anyone in a power conference, so its pretty much the same difference.

Tonight completely exposed Pel's total and complete recruiting failures.  We were outmanned BIG-TIME.  We were outcoached, which ain't saying much.

I never thought we could be worse than last year's 2-15, but this team might beat Auburn at home in front of about 3,000 people.  I honestly don't see us winning TWO SEC games.

The Boar War

And some were wondering why others were upset when Arkansas continues to recruit 6'0 guards and 6-6/7 post men.

Once Fortson comes back and shakes off the rust and Washington gets healthy this team will win some games in SEC play.  Rooting for you guys from here on out.

There is nothing that this team is "good" at.

We are a horrible defensive team.

Horrible at rebounding.

Horrible passing team.

Horrible at running an offense.

Micheal Washington is terribly overrated, and Im not just basing that off of his recent performances because I know he is "injured".

The best thing we do is dunks during warm ups.

I feel sorry for Rotnei.

Don't forget shooting (other than Clarke).

In fact, we may be the worst shooting team in Division 1 basketball (other than Clarke).

I don't think Fortson is coming back and hurt or not Washington has not helped the team out at all over the past couple of games.

Well other than shooting, when he can get a look. What else does Clarke provide for this team?  Other than shooting Clarke isn't exactly filling up the stat sheet. If he isn't scoring he isn't giving you much, if anything.

I hope that we don't play Baylor next Season.  The below is links to information about the #6 Ranked High School Player in the United States (#6 overall according to Rivals) that Baylor has signed.  The below player is also the #2 Ranked Power Forward in the United States (ranking by Rivals).  According to the below player's Rivals information, the below player is now 6' 11".  The below player is going to cause a lot of problems for opposing Teams.  I wish the UofA would have landed the below player.

I've got a question.....what would it take for us to get some guys on our team as big and athletic as what Baylor had tonight??

I mean we looked like a bunch of slow midgets out there...and I about blew green tea through my nose when the announcer said Clarke was 6'0 tall....LMAO, whatever.  Honestly we looked tiny out there tonight....and there was NO comparison in overall altheticism...we were outclassed and outcoached for that matter.
Thanks for the F Shack.

Other than those two items, we are good to go.

How did this happen? Joking of course..I know most of the pat answers but mind you Baylor..a team that pretty much came back from the dead in this decade, took us to the woodshed in our own arena.

How much further can we sink before the PTB make a change?

I believe they mentioned tonight that Baylor has the 2nd tallest team across the board in the country.  So with our shorter than average guys we definitely did look like a HS team compared to them tonight.

At one point they were actually able to put a 6'10" guy on Rotnei.  I don't think Rotnei has ever seen much of that.

At some point this season I would like to see that our team has learned to set screens for perimeter shooters.  I have yet to see that with this squad, and that is one thing I point to coaching for.

Does anyone know what Rob Evans' current contributions to coaching the team are?  This is just an honest question.

Lando Calrissian

I noticed that Baylor employed the dreaded 2-1-2 zone to start out the game.

It is truly one of the most difficult defenses to figure out EVER!

Quote from: jacksonpollackEvery time I look around in BWA I get dizzy. It is hard to judge the capacity. During the Auburn game I tried to count all the people in attendance but got lost at around 30,000.

This team can't shoot free throws.

Has about 1 outside threat.

Still runs "the weave" on offense.

Not very athletic.

No communication and enthusiasm.  Of course it would be hard to when your getting your head kicked in game in and game out.
Like smites bother me.

HiggiePiggy

Its pretty simple to beat arkansas

put 2 on Rotnei because all the others can not shoot worth a crap.

13 in the first half  0 in the second.   Close game at halftime  Blowout at the end.
If a man speaks and no woman is around to hear him, is he still wrong?

Iwastherein1969

we were herded into playing EXACTLY like Baylor wanted us to play....we walked the ball up the court, they spread their zone defense out in order to take away Rotnei Clarke and invited us into the paint for shots all night long....why ? because the Baylor coach knew their tall and long backline on defense would contest and alter every shot in the lane...yet we kept ON and ON and ON doing the same thing.....its like we were a moth and the Bears were the flame.....no adjustments
The long Grey line will never fail our country.

^ This for sure!  I'll be so happy to see Welsh and Washington go.  Hopefully we'll have some other talent coming in at some point.....maybe???

As for Forston, I don't think he'll be in a Hog uniform again.....just wish they could go ahead and get this out.

a coach that can actually coach, has the respect of his players, and one that can recruit. not asking to much though.

No, they said Kentucky was the highest paid team.

Yes, they said Kentucky was the tallest team as well...

But I am sure they are also the highest paid team.

how does every other team we play have alot more than just 1 guy that can shoot the 3? we have 1...thats it...shut him down....we die. Ive never seen a team, college, no less, that only has 1 shooter....really is sad...

Why should they?  Fortson being out is the best excuse for the losses.  After all, he's EASILY worth at least 25-30pts per game in the offense he creates.  EVERYONE knows that.   Plus, keeping fans guessing boosts attendance.

The best excuses are the ones that can never be proven wrong.  Excuse making 101.

I believe Pel deserves at least 2 more years to get some post players in to accompany our decent backcourt.  If he can't get us to the NCAAT in 2 years then I'll definitely change my mind.

I understand giving a coach time, but giving Pel time will solve NOTHING.

Ive never heard a reason or maybe I just missed it, but why does Fortson not sit on the bench during games? Anybody know?

What we remind me of is a middle-tier Sun Belt team.

Very concerning to me is our lack of size in the post.  That may work well against UALR, A-State, or Western Kentucky, but against a middle of the pack Big 12 team, we were really exposed.  I just don't think you can be consistently successful in the bigger conferences without some size on the front line.

I remarked the same thing a couple of weeks ago and people replied like I was high.

bad part is it's the same damn guy who won't get fouled often because he is a 3 point shooting specialist...basically, we are screwed every which way we turn
