Can someone explain the difference between an official and an unofficial visit.   Thanks in advance

Simple version, official visits are paid for by the host school and can only occur after the perspective student athlete's SR year has started. An unofficial visit the athlete pays his own way to visit the campus, it can occur anytime the NCAA recruiting calendar allows for it.

Can the school provide housing, food etc while on campus or must he  stay in a motel?

Thanks ricepig. And thanks for bringing the info, not only to this topic, but many others throughout the different forums. :razorback:
