Thanks, I definitely went over his name earlier and saw that he was playing for the Dodgers so not sure how I left him off.  He has been added now.

I will try to update this as time goes on and as I hear players moving back and forth between AAA and the majors - like I know Stanek, Reynolds, Eibner, Bolsinger, and Astin have all been bouncing in between AAA and MLB this season.  Then guys like Beeks and Baxendale look like they are moving up through the ranks at a nice pace and should reach the big leagues if they keep it up.

I would be interested in learning what kind of stats players usually need to put at each level to get moved up?

I may try to expand this at some point by adding some basic stats from the current year by each player.

On the school site, if you go to baseball, on the right hand side of the page there is a breakdown of the prohogs and you can pull up their stats individually (it includes minor leagues as well).  I dont know how often they update it though.

It isn't about stats.  The traditional stats are not overly looked at by front offices when making decisions about advancement.

Each org has player development guys who dictate that stuff.  It can depend on a lot of things like (not remotely an exhaustive list):

1. what are the other players in the higher level like at his position.  Who do we want to take at bats from?  can we, or do we need to wait to see if this sorts itself out at the trade deadline?

2. What about his make up.  Will he be put into a position to succeed?  Is he ready to deal with failure while he adjusts?  Does he need to experience failure?

3. How is he doing?  Is he hitting the ball hard?  Is he getting fooled by guys with good breaking stuff?  Is he in a lower level and only feasting off of mistake pitches?  Can he handle the higher level or does he still need to work on x, y, and z.  Is he hitting 400 because he has elite contact skills... but he doesn't know how to recognize or lay off pitches so when he gets to higher levels vs guys with better stuff... will he just hit weak grounders to second over and over?

4.  Latin american players bring in other issues because those guys are adjusting to a new culture at a very early age and they may or may not speak english very well, etc.  There are other non baseball issues to deal with.

You're doing this for an entire organization and trying to put everyone in the best place to succeed on all levels.

Was just searching through a few of these and saw Matt Reynolds was just called up.

Haha I do appreciate you calling it out.

On another note, I noticed that Stephan has been assigned to Rookie ball, and is playing for the GCL Yankees.  He has thrown 2 scoreless innings with 0 hits and 0 walks so far!

Canaan Smith is also on the GCL Yankees and is hitting .286 (4/14) with 4 RBIs through 4 games - leads the team in RBIs.

7/11 Update:

- Tyler Spoon moves up from A to A+ (Was batting .318 avg for 2017 at A ball before moving up, however his problem seems to be his low OBP at .338 as he has only walked once on the year and is not getting on base unless he gets a hit basically.)
