I guess the season will be a zombie parade

We did what we needed to do this weekend. We didn't get swept.  More would have been nice, but 1 was enough to not drop much if any. We're ranked 2 or 3 tomorrow.

We need to win the series against State, and win one at A&M. Do that and we're top 5 at least at the end of the regular season.

This!  Kendall Diggs does this almost every time.  Teams have figured it out so they groove that first pitch as he watches it go by.

The only way you take the first pitch is if it is one you can drive with the possibility of a home run.

At the beginning of the year our pitching was keeping us in the games. But, its quite evident that our Saturday and Sunday pitching has failed us and really exposing weak hitting. Its time for DVH change our pitching for Saturday and Sunday which he said last night. Maybe totally flipping our pitching ( not Smith) staff. Same for hitting. I had high hopes this team would win it all. Now, not so much.

Seems to me that we have a lot more 0-2 counts than I've ever noticed before.

Multiple reasons. A lot of kids are taught to take until they get a strike in Little League on up and it becomes a habit.

Scouting a pitcher may say take his first pitch due to data.

And as said in other posts it drives up pitch count.

When Alloy is hitting good he's not swing first pitch. When he's hitting bad, he swings at everything. Holt 1st pitch swinging resulted in week contact several times this weekend.
