Quote from: SquidBilly on Today at 06:29:43 amWe played Florida at Baum Walker so that wasn't a home series loss for them.  Also A&M has another road series loss to LSU you didn't mention in your original post.  What it boils down to for us now is if we defend our home field this weekend with a sweep of Miss State that puts us at 20 SEC wins.  Win one at A&M this last reg season series and we get to 21.  That exceeds what we did last year when we won the division with 20 wins and should no doubt have us slotted in as a top 8 national seed.
Thanks for the correction. I'm not surprised that there's at least one error. I spent about 45 minutes trying to put that together off of the SEC site, and I think my eyes were spinning by the time I got through.

My main point was to give some data to support how tight things are, that we've done pretty well in road series, and are quite good at home. Another point was to give data that the road is tough for everybody.

I'm glad it's sparked a little discussion. There's some really good thinking and good comment  on this board. Hopefully the knuckleheads will read the considered comments thinking and it will help better inform them.

I'm still chuckling at Kris P's pic. I Don't know how some of you guys find this stuff, but it adds a lot. Levity is a good thing.

Not in the know... but I'm guessing it has something to do with ESPN, the SEC or umps hating the Hogs.  That covers about 96.4% of all our ills.

At 89, Gene Stallings finds every new day is 'the best present I could get

By Rick Karle

QuoteCoach Gene Stallings' voice sounded gravelly, yet strong, as he sat in his living room in Paris, Texas. Buddy, by the way, is Coach Stallings' dog, the most recent in a long line of Buddys. "I name all my dogs Buddy so I won't forget what to call them," the former Crimson Tide football coach chuckled.

I agree with you in a way. I'm okay with the fans looking ahead. They may be in for a rude awakening but that's their business. I just want the team to focus on each AB and score some runs.

Quote from: howie76 on Yesterday at 09:07:22 pmI'd like to see more small ball, I know I'm in the minority and that's fine and I love our team and coaches. Not a knock on them at all, just feel like we need to do something to get some pressure on the other team. Get some guys on and move them around. Try to extend the inning, put a little more pressure rather than trying to just get the pitch count up. And I know we have a few guys that swing early and it's worked at times and at times it hasn't.if a pitcher is struggling I'm all for it. Either way I'll cheer em on till the end.
DVH is always hesitant to play small ball, but I am with you.
if our hitters were rattling fences, hit away. but they are so anemic with their bats, small ball gives us run scoring ability we dont have right now.

aggressive swing gets you out of hitting slumps. working b/s counts with homer umpires is no way to win championships.

pitching was off, but failing to get hits against batting practice pitchers like the blue grass boys had is ridiculous.
