What do you guys think about La Monroe +22.  I think that is a great play.  OU breaking in a new QB and Browning is back for Monroe.  If he plays anything like he did against us last year they will be tough.

Hi guys.

I don't see how ya'll bet west coast games. I hate going to bed with a game still on and I have a wager on it.

Anyway, carry on.

It ain't easy being CHEESY

S.Carolina -11.5 / 3 units w
Minnesota - 13.5 / 2 units w
Ole Piss -3 / 2 units w

All three the same way 3 team parlay 1 unit to win 6 w

I hate playing all favorites but is what it is.

USC -23.5 L

3-1 straight bets
1-0 parlay

+9 units on the night.

USC giving up late TD bomb cost me a + 17 unit night. Bastards!

nice night jeff!

All:

Since we try to be transparent in this thread, do you guys want me to post "tailing Jeff" for every pick he posts? Or do you not give a ish? I don't want to clutter the thread, but don't mind being transparent either.

Example: I posted I was tailing him yesterday when the bulk of his picks were posted. Later he posted the USC-W pick, which I also tailed. After inputting the bet on my site, my first thought was "should I clutter the thread by w/ every pick Jeff makes, by posting that I'm tailing it?" So I didn't.

Bottom line: w/ Jeff's blessing I'm tailing every pick of his, cfb & nfl. Everyone here can assume this, but I'll be glad to post "tailing Jeff", if preferred. The only picks not tailed will be those I can't input in time, such as when I'm at the Hog games, with the crappy internet/cell coverage that exists there....good luck w/ at&t coverage being able to get cfb scores from across the country, much less being able to get on HV & sportsbook.com to monitor/place bets. Ha.

I will still post my own picks and my record will obviously consist only of those (mediocre) results.

First off tail my picks anytime you want buddy.  Keep this in mind it's your money so if you tail my picks and win they are your picks a well. Same with losses.

even though it's being played at SMU, it will be a home-game crowd for Tech.  This I can assure you.

if and when I post my picks, always assume im tailing somebody somewhere hah.

Occasionally i'll bet something I know i'll be watching just to have a stake in the game.

I really do enjoy reading what you guys have to say about games. I read every word of it and try to make it work on my end quite often.

well lets start here and find comon ground because i sort of lean towards smu in this one but can we agree that it will be over 60 points because i think at least one of these here teams will score 40
one other thing i like to look at is lines texas tech has neither o or d line to speak of but the ofensive line unit at least has the talant and potential

Jeff "hogfanintx" Anderson

I don't know.  I have Tech as a 4* play tonight but I haven't bet it yet.

I will just not sure how much.  One thing I know is the new coach at tech Kingsbury or whatever is gonna try and put a stamp on this thing if he gets the chance.

My tech lean is simply this.  If one of the two teams has the potenti to win by 20 what team is it.  My gut tells me tech no matter how inexperienced the QB is.

I could certainly be wrong though!
Let's make some waves.

BJOhog

you are right about the stamp and also tech did win 8 games last year with good wins

i think i am about to place an over on this one heres and just let you boys play the winner i dont think i got enough of an angle to pick it either way

Tai_Mai_Shu

Quote from: Huckleberry Pig on August 30, 2013, 10:04:25 am
posted my picks before I made my bet and just found out Tech is starting a true fresh walk on at QB.

I did not go through with -5 on tech.  I will just be playing the over tonight.

Bet:

TT/SMU O59.5 -- 1*

Did they scout the intramural field? I'm not touching this game.

BJOhog

im going 2 units on the over smu texas tech to i got to make up some ground

Tai_Mai_Shu

SMU has a decent coach in June Jones and we have a rookie in Kliff Kingsbury which scares me off. It seems everyone is picking the over which is tempting for me.

WILL CLINTON

McKaddy, I wouldn't worry about posting that you are trailing Jeff. Hell, I played 2 games I didn't post on here last night, and trailed Jeff on the USC bet. I won't consider those in my record, because I didn't have the balls to post on here before hand, because the 2 were leans, and I didn't pick the USC game. JMO

Saturday should be a good one though. $$$$$ laying around everywhere on Saturday.

I've been leaning oSu since the line started moving hard in MSU's direction. Then yesterday, a local sports radio station in Tulsa had MSU's radio game caller on, as they do of all opponents of oSu, OU, and TU. These various game callers are almost universally positive, think Rick Schaeffer. But this MSU radio guy -- I don't recall if he was the play-by-play or color guy -- was not Lou Holtzing the game, but he was certainly tempering any enthusiasm a MSU fan might have for this game vs oSu.

there are enough easy games out there in my opinion you have to bave big brass balls to play that game if sombody stuck a gun to my head and told me to pick i would say okie state giving the points but noway im putting money anywhere on that game heck the safest bet may be the under cause i expect it will be about as ugly and dirty as the cowbwlls can make it

I've got leans on oSu, ULM, BYU, UGA. I'll spend more study time tonight.

One more thing concerning Jeff's picks -- when our picks disagree, I'll choose his over mine, unless I've already committed, then I'll take both sides.

I'm just not playing this game.  oSU could win by 50, or miss st could shut them down cold.  I have no clue. Hard for me to bet against an SEC team (even on the road) getting points.

Miss St may not score all game for all I know.

I'm steering clear of this one myself.

Wish I could have been of more help!

I like Bama to cover against VT

Not sure if I'm playing that game at all, but if I had to bet it would prob take va tech + the points.
Let's make some waves.

WILL CLINTON

Ok St is my game of the week. I can't see Miss St keeping this within 3 TD's.

I also like LSU and Georgia to cover, I think ULM will keep it closer with OU than most think, and I see Penn St beating Syracuse by about 2 TD's.

I also, for the heck of it, put down $5 to win $440'ish on this parlay:

Georgia -2
LSU -5
Ok St -13
Vandy +4
USCe -13.5
Penn St -8
ULM +21

widespreadsooie

I've been all over Bama and OSU since early August. Still am.

Bama- 42
VT- 6

OSU- 41
Sip St.- 24

UAstudent13

Parlay

LSU -4.5 over TCU
NW -5.5 over Cal
Ole Miss -3 over Vandy
Hogs -10.5 over ULL
Tech -5.5 over SMU

Went all favorites for this week.

I don't do this often, but I may add the Razorback game to my official card. I just can't see ULL staying within 25 points.

Maybe it's just optimism, but I'm leaning that way.

Supposedly, this is going to be oSu's best defense during Gundy's tenure (no, I'm not getting that info from Poke fans over here, ha).  But we heard the same thing concerning Petrino's defense for the '12 season and saw how JLS helped that turn out.

Ok State is probably going to win the Big Whatever Conference. OU has slipped a bit, and the things I've been reading, it may be a 8 or 9 win season for them. Texas will provide a bit of a contest, but Ok St should be BCS bowling this year. On the flip side, Miss St may be sitting at home in December waiting to see who their new coach will be. I've been wrong several times before, so who knows.

In the non-conference, you can really do well in NCAAF going with favorites. Once conference season arrives, that's when you see the most upsets

not crazy, but they may be the undefeated left out in the cold. Ohio St is going to have to try hard to lose, but Michigan could do it. Oregon and Stanford is the other matchup that will have big implications. I don't see Bama losing, but it could happen.

In the crazy world of cfb, I don't see Bama running the table....such as in '11 & '12 when Bama lost to LSU and A&M respectively, then needed help to reach the bcs championship games.
