My grandpa gave me an old set of Spalding Executive clubs a couple of weeks ago.  The drivers are wooden (persimmon I think). I don't know much about golf, but a friend told me that that they were likely produced in the late 60's or early 70's.  Does anyone know what these clubs might be worth?  I've tried searching Ebay, but to no avail.  Any ideas???

My friend also suggested that I buy some newer drivers and put the wooden ones away to keep them from cracking.  Something about the materials that the balls are being made of now days can crack older clubs??  Anyone ever heard of this?

I would think that the only real value would be sentimental since you got them from your grampa, as
far as them cracking, I don't know about that but I do know that the new technology is far superior to
those clubs. If you are serious about playing to the best of your ability I would put up the old set from
your grandpa for a keep sake and buy new clubs to play with.
