Jax biggers lines the first pitch into left field and ARKANSAS leads it 5-4

Hogs get their first RBI with RISP in the series.

SPAL

Eric Cole steps in and takes ball 1....

The 1-0 is in there...strike 1.

The 1-2 is just an awful swing at a slider in the dirt....1-2.

Cole rips it into right and 2 more hogs cross the plate....Cole thrown out trying g to stretch it.

But the hogs plate 3 runs in the 8th and will nurse a 3 run lead into the 9th

3 more outs and then a break before i get to see the hogs here in Knoxville

SPAL

Reindl back on for the 9th....it's his game to finish.

He will face Ryan Seemster who is pinch hitting for Kessinger.

Pitch 86 is a ball...

1-0 is the count and he misses away.

Wes Johnson will come out and chat....reindl wants this one badly.

Cannon Chadwick is warming in the Hog bullpen.

Seamster takes ball 3....

The 3-0 finds the zone....

3-1 is a beautiful changeup for strike 2.

The payoff from Reindl misses downstairs and it's a leadiff walk.

And DVH will come get big Jake.....

A great outing for Jake Reindl who goes 6.1  innings.

SPAL

Cannon Chadwick out from Paris, Texas...3.26 era in 30.1 innings. 38 strikeouts to 11 walks.

A save situation for Cannon and he will face Blackmon and fires it in a strike to start him off...

0-1 is away and it's even at 1-1...

The 1-1 from Chadwick is a change up in the dirt...2-1.

Seamster gets his lead at first....he walked to lead off the inning and Chadwick hits blackman.

Runners on 1st and 2nd with 0 outs.

Evan Lee, a true freshman from Bryant, Arkansas will come on to protect this lead. It's never easy here in the SEC or in baseball....a big spot for the freshman, Lee.

Dvh will make a change.
I will preface by saying that I really like Chadwick...but I am glad he is making this change...Cannon is best when starting off a inning with no runners on ...his confidence is fragile right now

SPAL

6-2 190 pound righty is a 4.63 era in just 11 innings....14 strikeouts on the year.

He faces a big jam with rebels on 1st and 2nd...and big will Golson looming in the right handed box...

Golson is 0-3 and takes it outside for ball 1.

Seamster us at 2nd, blackman at first...

Golson gives it a ride....deep right field, back to the track....

And Bonfield makes the out

JHicks3636

SPAL

Bortles is a mammoth right hander...2-2 today and big #25 takes ball 1.

It's lifted to right but bonfield barely moves and makes the out.

Lee 1 out away from avoiding the sweep.

tennesseehogwild

SPAL

Lee, from the belt....faces olenek....the lefty fires and it's a breaking ball that misses low.

Olenek takes some warmup swings, steps in...Lee deals, it's cut on...it's struck well...

But it is gonna be out #3 to Eric Cole and that's the game.
The hogs take game 3

Love olenek dropped a fly ball allowing 2 runs and then made the last out of the game.

I'll hate him forever for his Busch league antics last season in Oxford

I'm surprised they didn't give him an error there -- or did they? Looked to me like he dropped it before he hit the wall.

has Chadwick had an outing this year where he has not hit a batter?

jry04

Great job coming back and winning this. Could have easily quit after dropping the first two and finding themselves down 3-0 early. It wasn't the weekend we hoped for, but we are still right there in the thick of things. Our RPI is 17th and our SOS is 46th. Need to win the series next weekend. Two or three road wins next weekend would move us back in the top 12 or so of the RPI.

Good win.  I was worried hogs would lose all 3 as crappy we are playing now

this might be the biggest win of the season..getting swept could have put us into a huge tailspin. Now we have a nice break and a very winnable series against Tenn.

This was an embarrassing series. Ole Piss shouldn't EVER take 2 at our place.

I was thinking the same thing. But, maybe Ole Miss is a lot better than their record. Their pitching was great and/or our batting was not. ?
