What's the temperature on him up there in Colombus?

Looks like second straight year with no NCAAs. I guess that is a little concerning, but I'd take him.

NO!  Much better options available.  He had a little run.  Now he's done.

Would be a more likely landing spot for Fred Hoiberg than Arkansas.

Dude, he's done more than go on "a little run."

- Elite 8 at Butler in 2004 (made tournament all 3 years there)
- National runner-up with Oden, Conley, etc. in 2007
- NIT champion the year after the Oden team cleaned out in 2008
- Sweet 16s in 2010 and 2011
- Final 4 in 2012
- Elite 8 in 2013

A decade of good success is a "little run?"

I looked up his stats rather than just relying on my thoughts after your post.  You are right, he had more than a little run.  He had good sustained success.  I never was that enamored with his teams even during those good years, and I guess that colored my whole perspective on his coaching.

I would still say no, because I would be concerned that he has already completed the work to get him to his peak, and now he's geared down.  But obviously, I could be wrong.  And he has proved to be a good coach!

Hard to say if he's peak or just needs a change. Still just 49 years old.

Granted.  Amazing he's just 49!  I would have guessed 10 years older.

Holy cow. I thought he had to be getting close to 60.

Don't see Matta coming south.  He would just leverage Arkansas for a raise if we even came sniffing.  Archie Miller is off Matta's coaching tree.

What? Wow, he looks like a 65 year old man!

King Kong

Yeah I would take him in a heartbeat

bosshog84

I would take him over MA but I would not be thrilled with the hire.
