Someone please reassure me that our football team will recover quicker than our basketball team.  Would anyone have predicted that our basketball team would have remain so bad for so long? Why will football be different?

Sorry guy but it's easier and less frusturating to go ahead and jump.See ya!!

It was the 4th overtime down 3 first and goal with a run to the left knowing these guys will not see a bowl game, but still fighting hard to beat the number 18 team in the nation in front of a packed home crowd that knows there is no bowl in sight.   The fans cheered and the players cheered as they scored in the 4th OT to win the game.  Oh sorry that was Penn State over Michigan.  Can't help you.  Jump.
If a man speaks and no woman is around to hear him, is he still wrong?

I think that he jumped.  Sad, really sad.

Patience, Grasshopper.

Football requires about 50 competitive players.  Basketball requires about 8.

If we gave a monkey with a whistle 10 years, we should be willing to give a proven coach and staff something similar.  Rome was not built in a day.
Life is too short for grudges and feuds.

Seeing as how successful basketball teams have a turnover every couple years, I'd say basketball turnarounds are much quicker than football turnarounds.

Sadly for you it sounds like time to light the last cigarette.

If it turns, burns, banks or rolls, crew chiefs made it happen.

Or you can be a lemming and keep wanting to give Heath/Pelphrey/Beliema "more time" along with the majority of Hog fans, deluded in the belief that total, repeating FAIL is just a part of the "rebuilding process."

OK. what do we do now then?

Not tolerate failure in every sense of the word.  Instead of attacking our players like so very many are doing, put the blame squarely where it belongs -- Beliema.

If a unit in the military fails to be prepared for its mission, who is to blame, the soldiers or the commanding officer?

Oh a military analogy. Let's see if I am going to combat I get what I need. The specialist I want to do the job.

I can guarantee CBB doesn't have what he needs right now to do what he wants. Do you get it yet?

Apples to oranges!  They do not compare.

Really?  We don't have specialists?  We're out there without a free safety?  A Defensive tackle?  If a team has been ill prepared and they all get killed because of poor planning, that is on the commanding officer.  You work for the military version of Alabama.  Ours is more like Canada's.  We have to be super prepared, not just rely on being the biggest bully on the block.  Get it now?

Football is not life or death.

TuskDr

I'll answer my own question, since no one else has attempted. Neither Heath nor Pelphrey had a long history of winning at a high level. Heath was a hot coach at time and had a good year at Kent State.  Pelphrey was a desperation hire and we simply took a chance that failed.  CBB is a proven coach. He has proven that he can recruit and will fill the major gaps that we have right now.

Wrong again. We have a specific job that we specialize in. Hey, just like a football team. If there is a missing need then we can't get the job done. Right now CBB doesn't have all the pieces in place to do what he needs to do. I'm not saying that he is the greatest coach Arkansas has ever had but good grief at least give him the chance.

They can't give him a chance.  They have a BP withdrawal.

Winning withdrawal.  Hope-for-winning withdrawal, to be more precise.  Don't care about wins this year.  Care about signs of good coaching.  We had that with BP in his 1st year, and the cupboard was far more bare back then.

Consider the fact that Ole Miss was totally irrevelent in football from the late 60s until the early 2000s.  Their program is much better right now, but look how long it took them to come back.  About 50 years?
