why they deserved 70% of their teams getting bids. They are GOOD!!! I am glad we play in the weak SEC otherwise we might not have even got a invite.

Texas A&M and Vanderbilt should have gotten in instead.
Vandy is on fire right now and IF Jones comes back next year they will have a legit shot at a top 4 finish.

I was kidding.  Hope they are better next season.  We need for the SEC's resume numbers to keep improving since so much rides on those manipulated and sometimes misleading profiles.

The best thing that happened to the Big 12 was that their worst team went undefeated during non-con play.  Had Mizzou done that everyone in the SEC would be seeded a spot higher.

They are benefitting greatly from only having 10 teams and playing each other twice plus a 3rd time in some cases in the conference tourney.  Then you have the ooc schedule of KU.  The larger conferences' unbalanced schedules leaves situations where some good teams are playing the bottom feeders twice and fellow top teams once.  The Big 12 was in a somewhat of a self fulfilling thing this season in that when they played each other they benefitted with a few exceptions.  The "numbers" suggested they should/could have had 5-7 teams.  Their seedings were inflated and Tex and Ok St got the benefit of the doubt.  Well except ISU.  They weren't overseeded.  They just choked.

Reminds me of a stretch some years ago where the Big 10 was always rated as this monster basketball conference, would get in more teams than anyone, and they would all or mostly be gone by the first weekend.

Tusks

according to the committee and how they seeded......the hogs would have finished 6th in the crap conference.

no fricken way.
sometimes it's a good and some times it's a schit

Now Texas is out.  0-3, and against teams with a combined seed of 11.3.

HamIAm

last year they got 7 teams in and only 2 survived the first weekend

Always a good day when Texas loses! Now just need a Razorback win tonight! WPS!!
Let's call those hogs!!!!

gmarv

one of my two favorite team won (whoevers playing tejas) and our hogs are gonna win tonight.

Maybe we won't have to hear all these talking heads talking how strong they are all next season, while I watch the games and say bull spit! Iowa state was the best team IMO and they showed several times they have problems playing as a team!

rzrbackrob

big 12-2-2+2 is an abomination of a conference created for the amusement of Texass.

The tournament is a crap shoot.  Best team does not always win.  Over the long haul the better teams will rise to the top but in one game anything can happen.  UConn was not the best team last year but they got hot and won when it mattered.  Kent st was not one of the best 8 teams in the country when Heath was there but they made a run.  Iowa st is a pretty good team but they blew it today.  All about who gets hot and who can make shots.  Hope the Hogs can do it tonight!

The little 12 sucks hind teat. It sucked hind teat last year. It will suck hind teat next year. When will the committee wake up and pull their collective heads out. It is time for a loud, very loud, popping sound as the heads exit the butts.

This so called conference was so good it got a team in that had 18 wins and a less than .500 conference record. It has a coach that has never seen anything past the 2nd round as a coach. His best teams were at best mediocre.

The conference was so good it suffered two huge upsets one the first day of the tournament, and one expected loss. It is time to quit pretending they have more than 2 or 3 legit tournament teams in any given year. The little 12 are pretenders.

hawginbigd1

Haha the next one falls with okie state, who like texass didn't deserve to be there! That conference is just so great. They will probably be completely wrapped up Sunday!

Pulling for Albany to beat OU. That would be sweet!

As of right now the Big 12 finally has their ONE "true champion" - as Kansas makes the round of 32.

EastexHawg

In the same vein...it was obvious all season that the SEC is as terrible in basketball as it is strong in football. The tournament so far has further demonstrated that fact.  The only two wins in the round of 64 have been against Hampton and Wofford.

Dr. Starcs

Not true. Sec only had 2 teams (out of 5) that were favored to win.

If the sec had 7 teams in, and got the seeds the big 12 did, they would do just as good if not better.

EastexHawg

The reason a conference doesn't have many teams "favored to win" is because it's not very good overall.

Dr. Starcs

And the reason why one conference get 70% of their teams in and continues to under perform is because they are overrated.

I don't disagree.  I was commenting on the SEC, not the Big 12.

WarPig88

The only stat I need to see in order to know that the Big XII is not a strong conference is where Kansas has won the regular season championship 11 straight years.

That doesn't happen in leagues that truly have depth.

They may not have that many teams that absolutely suck, but they don't have a lot of good/great teams either.

hawginbigd1

:D and another one gone, WTG shockers! Little 12 will have more losses and less wins than the SEC, but SEC is so poor, and little 12 is so great. BS! OU very lucky to survive Dayton who has played 5011 games in the last 2 weeks with 7 players!

If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.
