Finished with 1,217 rebounds, seventh all-time in the SEC, second all-time at LSU to Durand "Rudy" Macklin ... Six career double-doubles (Points, Boards, Blocks) ... Highest earning former SEC player in the NBA ...

Bob Pettit '51-54  Naismith and Collegiate Basketball Halls of Fame ... 3x AP All-American (1st Team in '54) ... 3x First-Team All-SEC member who led his Tigers to a second place finish in 1952, conference titles in 1953 and 1954 and the NCAA Final Four in 1953.He led the league in scoring all three years, with the highest averages seen to date in the league: 25.5 points in 1952, 24.9 in 1953 and 31.4 points per game in 1954. At the same time, he was averaging 13.1 (1952), 13.9 (1953) and an
LSU best 17.3 (1954) rebounds per game. Only Pete Maravich and Chris Jackson would also break the 30-point average barrier at LSU.

Pistol Pete Maravich '67-70  2x National Player of the Year ... Naismith, NBA and Collegiate Basketball Halls of Fame ... 3x SEC Player of the Year ... Leading scorer in the history of college basketball: 3,667 points, an average of 44.2 points for 83 games ... 3x 1st Team Unanimous All-American ... Maravich, Pettit, and Shaq were all named to the NBA's 50th anniversary team and, of course, LSU's All-Century Team. They were all three-year players at LSU.

He averaged 21.6 ppg over his career and is the only UGa basketball player to have his jersey retired (the Hawks also retired his jersey).

Joe Johnson, Arkansas has scored 20,000 points and counting at the beginning of his 17th NBA season. Johnson averaged 25 ppg for the '06-07 Hawks. The former Arkansas Mr. Basketball, was the first Razorback freshman to lead the team in scoring and rebounding with 16 and 5.7. He helped lead the Hogs to an SEC Tournament championship requiring four games. He entered the NBA draft after his sophomore season where he was the 10th overall pick.

Dan Issel, Kentucky with 27,482 points and 11,133 rebounds in 15 ABA/NBA seasons and Hall of Famer. He was nearly 80% on FT across his pro career. Issel in three seasons, is also the leading all-time career scorer and rebounder at UK. His UK teams never made the Final Four. In his senior season his number one team was upset in the regional finals by Jacksonville led by his future ABA teammate Artis Gilmore ending the possibility of a game against reigning champs UCLA.

Bernard King, Vols. The Hall of Famer scored 19,655 points in 14 seasons, averaging 22.5 ppg for his NBA career.  King became the first NBA player in 20 years to score 50 points in consecutive games.  The TNT studio analysts once named King to their "Next 10", the ten players in their mind, who had just missed the NBA's 50 Greatest Players announced in 1996. King was an All-American in each of this three seasons at Tennessee and was three-time SEC POY. He is second all-time at UT in points and rebounds. He left for the NBA after his junior season. King and Ernie Grunfield led UT to the 1977 SEC Championship (no SEC tournament at the time). King was the subject of a recent ESPN documentary.

Bailey Howell F, Naismith Hall of Famer from Middleton, TN scored 17,770 points in 11 NBA seasons covering the 60s. 6-time NBA all-star and 2-time champion with the Celtics. Howell averaged 18.7 and 9.9. Howell's Miss. State jersey was retired at half time of the 2009 Arkansas game, the first for the Bulldogs. He is State's all-time leading rebounder and scoring average leader. He was a two-time all-american. The Bailey Howell Award goes to the state of Mississippi's best college player.

Cliff Hagan F and Frank Ramsay F, Hagan aka ' Lil Abner ', remarkably tough 6' 5 forward, played college ball at Kentucky, star for the St. Louis Hawks, helped them win 1958 NBA title. Remarkable athlete, was player /coach for years, later played in the ABA in the late 1960s as well. Was Kentucky's AD when it came crashing down for Eddie Sutton and the program. The UK baseball stadium is named for him.  Ramsay was star forward at Kentucky then for the Boston Celtics in the 1950s and 1960s.The first of Red Auerbach's ' Sixth Man ' stars.

Latrell Sprewell SF-SG, 16,712 career points for an 18.3 ppg average over a 12-year career. Missed 68-games in his prime after being suspended for choking PJ Carlesimo. 4-time NBA All-Star. Yante Maten made quite a name for himself at Georgia

QuoteHe is the leading scorer in the SEC and the second-leading scorer in the history of Georgia men's basketball. The 6-foot-8, 242-pound power forward has been a one-man wrecking crew in the low post for the Bulldogs. In addition to 19.5 points, he averages 8.7 rebounds and 1.5 blocks a game.

And he's about to play his last regular-season game at Stegeman Coliseum for the Bulldogs...

Had a lot of fun doing this piece @SDS - All Time Florida Basketball Starting 5 - with some help from @gatorhoops

QuoteSince 2000, the Gators are one of the 10 winningest basketball programs in the NCAA, completing the evolution from perennial doormat to national powerhouse.

In that time span, Florida has won 6 regular season SEC Championships, four SEC Tournament championships, completed the first 21-0 SEC campaign (18-0 in conference, 3-0 SEC Tournament) in league history, reached four Final Fours and of course won two national championships. They've also advanced to the Elite 8 on eight occasions. Only bona fide blue bloods Kansas, North Carolina, Kentucky have advanced to as many or more Elite 8s this century.

Florida has served as the college destination for multiple future NBA lottery picks, NBA draft picks and NBA All-Stars over the past 20 years, and the end result of all that talent passing through Gainesville has been plenty of winning.

But even with all the great players who have graced Florida's program, picking an all-time Florida starting 5 wasn't as difficult as you might imagine.

Here's the All-Time Gators starting 5.
Point Guard: Scottie Wilbekin (2010-2014)

Choosing the best point guard at Florida was a brutally difficult task.

But in the end, two names stood above the rest: current guard Chris Chiozza, a highly-touted, crafty, quick, tough and quiet leader from Memphis who just set Florida's career assist record, and Scottie Wilbekin.

In the end, Wilbekin was Florida's most complete point guard of all time.

Shooting Guard: Mike Miller (1998-2000)

There's a great story from Chris Harry, who does fine work covering Gators basketball for Floridagators.com, about Mike Miller's return to Gainesville to the Auburn game. The short version is that as Miller took the floor to receive an ovation from the crowd as a Gators great, a fan in the stands said: "That's the guy who started it all."

With Florida basketball, that's largely true.

Small Forward: Corey Brewer (2004-2007)

Stacy Poole could score prolifically, despite multiple injuries and a lack of surrounding talent. Chandler Parsons was marvelous and the first Donovan acolyte to win SEC Player of the Year. Matt Bonner was the Red Mamba, the astute, crafty, pick and pop legend who fit like a glove in Donovan's motion offenses.

But the pick is still Brewer.

The lone McDonald's All-American from Florida's historic "04s" recruiting class, Brewer was a highly-decorated athletic swing man from Portland, Tennessee and the only of the 04s to start from Day 1 as a freshman.

Power Forward: Al Horford (2004-2007)

Believe it or not, this was the toughest debate.

In the end, it was just about keeping the band together, which is why Al Horford edges Gators great Neal Walk for a spot in the Gator All-Time Starting 5.

Walk would be the team's Sixth Man, if we had one. A truly dominant big with great feet, Walk was Florida's first basketball All-American and remains the program's leader in scoring average (20.8 points a game).

Center: Joakim Noah (2004-2007)

WATCH: Former Vols hoops star Ron Slay drops hilarious video after Arkansas win: 'Kentucky, y'all next'

QuoteSlay begins the process by calling out the Razorbacks for thinking they could try to sneak by the Vols for a chance at a rematch with Kentucky in the SEC title game on Sunday. Oh, and he does so while casually roasting "every part of the pig" over an open fire on what appears to be a grill on the back porch of his home.

The video continues inside the home, where he leaves a message for Big Blue Nation that may be watching for giggles: "Kentucky, you're next."

Slay, now 36, played for the Vols from 1999-2003. He was the 2003 AP SEC player of the year during a senior season that yielded 21.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.

Update on Across Time Teams since SEC Expansion ('91-92)

Bama:

Erwin Dudley '99-03  SEC Coaches Player of the Year, AP 3rd Team... Averaged a career-best 15.2 points per game with 8.9 rebounds in 2001-02. Dudley's play that season helped the Tide amass 27 wins, the second-most in school history, to go along with an SEC championship and a No. 8 final ranking in the AP poll. Dudley's 8.9 rebounds led the SEC that season and he also led the SEC in rebounding as a sophomore and senior. He finished his career at Alabama ranked seventh all-time in scoring and fourth in rebounding.

James Robinson '90-93 AP Hon. Mention All-American...  recorded one of the best freshman seasons in Alabama history with 16.8 ppg in 1990-91 to lead the Tide in scoring in his first season on campus. His 554 points that season still stands as the Alabama freshman scoring record and helped Alabama win the SEC Tournament title and make an NCAA "Sweet 16" appearance. During that tournament run, the freshman averaged 17 points. He followed up that season with 661 points in 1991-92, the second-most ever in a season at Alabama and he then posted 598 points his junior year. In his three years before being drafted in the first round by the Portland Trail Blazers, Robinson scored 1,813 career points, seventh all-time.

Collin Sexton '17-18  SEC Co-Freshman of the Year and AP Hon. Mention After his freshman campaign ended with 20 victories and Alabama's first NCAA Tournament win since 2006, Sexton is on his way out of Tuscaloosa -- but not before changing the perception of the Crimson Tide on both the hardwood and the recruiting trail.

Quote"He's made Alabama basketball a cool thing to high school kids, in the eyes of McDonald's All-Americans and Jordan Brand-game guys," said ESPN analyst Jimmy Dykes. "It's cool to go there because you're playing for an ex-NBA guy and Collin Sexton played here and you have momentum going now and street credibility now that you didn't have a year ago at Alabama and now you do."

"It gets us in the door with players on Collin's level and the caliber of player he is," Johnson explained. "Not only are we calling recruits, but they're calling us."

That may be more beneficial than the 19.2 points per game Sexton averaged, the honorable mention All-America citation he garnered and the tangible results he produced during his one season on campus.

In the NBA, Dykes predicts, Sexton will spread the gospel of Crimson Tide hoops with every split-second drive and fancy pass he makes.

"The value of a guy like Sexton is hard to put into terms," Dykes said. "But this guy is going to be a legitimate ten-year pro. So what impact he has on Alabama basketball I think will remain the next ten years or so, if not beyond."

Trevor Releford '11-14  2x 1st Team All-SEC... fourth in program history in scoring with 1,873 ... first all-time in school history and fifth in SEC history in steals with 263 ... first at Alabama in steals per game (1.9) and career games played (134), second in career starts (126), fifth in free-throw percentage (.814), and ninth in three-point attempts (446) and assists (395).

Kennedy Winston '02-05  Led Alabama and the SEC in scoring in 2004-05 (17.9) en route to earning honorable mention All-America honors from the Associated Press. In his final season, he averaged 17.9 points with 5.4 rebounds per game as the Tide finished the season ranked No. 21 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament with 24 wins. In the previous season, Winston was a key component of the Tide's deepest NCAA run, averaging 19.0 points per game during Alabama's march to the Elite Eight.

Bench:

Mo Willliams  '01-03  Led Alabama to 27 wins, an SEC championship and a final No. 8 final ranking in the AP poll. Averaged 10.4 ppg in his freshman season with 4.1 apg ... Sporting News National Freshman of the year, Basketball America 2002 Newcomer of the Year and the SEC Freshman of the Year... 3rd Team All-SEC '03 ... 2nd Round NBA pick ... one of the highest paid SEC players in NBA

JaMychal Green '11 AP and Coach's 1st Team

Antonio McDyess '93-95  1996 NBA All-Rookie First Team averaging 13.4 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. In 1999, he was named to the All-NBA Third-Team for that season. He earned a spot on the 2001 NBA All-Star Team and was a part of the gold-medal-winning U.S. Men's National Team at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia. After a five-year tenure with the Detroit Pistons, McDyess signed a free-agent contract with San Antonio in 2009. He played in his 1,000th career game on March 9, 2011, getting the start against his former team, the Detroit Pistons. McDyess was waived by the Spurs on Dec. 19, 2011, ending his 17-year career in the league. With $116.6 million in career earnings, McDyess is the highest earning former Bammer in NBA history.

Latrell Sprewell '90-92  Avg. 17.8 ppg and garnered All-SEC recognition in '92. Bama's most accomplished NBA player with 16,712 career points despite missing a large portion of '97 for choking PJ. In his rookie season, Sprewell was the first Warrior to total 1,000 points, 250 rebounds, 250 assists, 100 steals and 50 blocks in a season. During his time with the Warriors, he led the team in scoring four straight seasons including a career high 24.2 points per game average during the 1996-97 season. At 23, Sprewell became the youngest player selected to the All-NBA first-team since Isaiah Thomas in 1984 (also made the team in 1994). Sprewell was voted to four NBA All-Star teams (1994, 1995, 1997, 2001). With career NBA earnings of $97 million, Spre is one of the top SEC career earners of all time.

Robert Horry '88-92  Helped the Tide win three SEC tournament titles and two berths in the NCAA's Sweet 16 round. Alabama compiled a 98-36 record during his four seasons; Horry set a school record for career blocked shots (282). He was selected to the All-Southeastern Conference, the SEC All-Defensive and the SEC All-Academic teams.  Horry holds seven NBA Championships that he won with three different teams in his 16 years in the league. Horry is only the second player in NBA history to win a championship with three different teams, including three with the Lakers (2000, 01, 02), two with the Rockets (1994, 95) and two with the Spurs (2005, 07). He participated in an NBA record 244 career playoff games and holds the record for most 3-point field goals in Finals history (40).

Gerald Wallace '00-01 Drafted at age 19 by the Sacramento Kings, making him the youngest player in the franchise's 62-year history at the time. In 2002, his rookie year, Wallace placed second in the NBA Dunk Contest.  He is scheduled to surpass $100,000,000 career earnings in '15-16 making him one of the highest paid former SEC players of all time. Bama's Top One-n-Done.

Richard Hendrix '05-08  AP honorable mention All-American following the 2007-08 season. Hendrix averaged 17.8 points and an SEC-leading 10.1 rebounds per game while leading Alabama in scoring in 14 games. An accurate interior shooter, he converted on nearly 60 percent of his field goal attempts over the course of his career and helped Alabama make two postseason appearances in his three years on campus. In those three years, Hendrix was 19th all-time in scoring (1,327) and 11th (849) in rebounding.

Ronald Steele '04-09  AP Hon. Mention... . Steele averaged 14.3 points per game with 132 assists and helped the Tide reach the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Steele was nearly automatic from the free-throw line, converting 89.2 percent of his attempts in 2005-06 and finishing his career shooting 86.7 percent from the stripe, the highest all-time mark in Alabama history. In 2006-07, knee injuries prevented Steele from becoming a multi-time All-American.

Rod Grizzard '00-02  He finished collegiate career as Alabama's 13th leading scorer of all-time, with 1487 points. Ranks fifth all-time in three-point field goals made and seventh in free throw shooting percentage. As a junior, earned Third Team All-SEC, All-SEC Tournament, and AP Honorable Mention All-American honors, and was a Wooden Award finalist.  SEC 1st Team and 2nd leading scorer as a sophomore.

QuoteBledsoe averaged 17.8 points, 5.1 assists and 2.0 steals per game for Milwaukee. He started all 71 games that he played for the Bucks and posted a triple-double on Monday with 20 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists in a victory over the Orlando Magic.

Rajon Rondo hates "Playoff Rondo," requests new nickname http://dlvr.it/QR2bWH

Quote"I've done what I've done in the past," Rondo said. "I let my game speak for itself. I feel like, when I get a certain amount of minutes and when the coaches allow me to be me on the court, I'm Rondo. There's no 'Playoff Rondo.' Ask any player. You're only as good as your coach allows you to be."

After making four All-Star teams, First-Team All-Defense, etc., his success comes well beyond the Playoffs alone.

"If you look at my history, I don't think you can be a four-time All-Star just from the playoffs. I must have done something in the regular season. 'Playoff Rondo', I think, is a myth. But I do love the big moments," said Rondo.

After he and former Wildcat big man Anthony Davis helped lead the Pelicans to a 4-0 sweep over the three-seed Portland Trail Blazers, he certainly didn't give fans a reason to stop using the nickname.

Bama's Top One-n-Dones

Collin Sexton '17-18  SEC Co-Freshman of the Year and AP Hon. Mention After his freshman campaign ended with Bama's first NCAA Tournament win since 2006, Sexton was on his way out of Tuscaloosa -- but not before changing the perception of the Crimson Tide on both the hardwood and the recruiting trail.

"He's made Alabama basketball a cool thing to high school kids, in the eyes of McDonald's All-Americans and Jordan Brand-game guys," said ESPN analyst Jimmy Dykes. "It's cool to go there because you're playing for an ex-NBA guy and Collin Sexton played here and you have momentum going now and street credibility now that you didn't have a year ago at Alabama and now you do."

"It gets us in the door with players on Collin's level and the caliber of player he is," Coach Avery Johnson explained.

Gerald Wallace '00-01 Drafted at age 19 by the Sacramento Kings, making him the youngest player in the franchise's 62-year history. In 2002, his rookie year, Wallace placed second in the NBA Dunk Contest.  He is scheduled to surpass $100,000,000 career earnings in '15-16 making him one of the highest paid former SEC players of all time.

Schea Cotton '99-00 F averaged 15.5 ppg and 4.6 rpg and was 2nd Team All-SEC... Former California High School POY had battled the NCAA and spent one season at Bama as a 21-year-old Soph. ... There is a documentary about his struggles https://scheacottonmanchild.com/pages/documentary.

Sexton and Wallace were apparently involved in the same NBA trade

Tyler Ulis was attacked last year in an elevator...Devin Booker chased after the attackers

QuoteTMZ Sports just released footage of Tyler Ulis being beat up in an elevator last year and Devin Booker chasing after his attackers.

The incident happened May 26, 2017 in Tempe, Arizona. Tyler was trying to hold an apartment elevator for his friends, but a group of guys took offense and started a fight. One attacker put Tyler in a headlock and eventually, the fight spilled into the hallway.

Booker and Ulis' friends found out about the fight and took the elevator down to the lobby to help Tyler out. Booker did not throw any punches, but helped chase the attackers out of the building. Police were called to the scene but no arrests were made.
