This has me thinking sources could be wrong about Kiffin getting a look........I'm okay with Norvell, and though I don't think Leach would be a great hire, I'm still willing to give him a chance, but NO to Morris and Holgorsen.....

Pete Thamel (Not Paul Harvey) is saying that's 4 names that "COULD" be on Yurachek's radar.

AugustaHog

Read it again.  Those aren't the finalists.  Those are who Pete Thamel thinks will be in the mix.  The author states that it's still wide open and that Norvell and Morris are known to be in the mix with Leach and Holgy as names to watch.

I have this odd feeling that Holgo would do well here. He's a younger Leach in more ways than one. Pair him with a Grinch on D. Not my top choice but would be entertaining

I'd be fine with those except Morris (which I'd be disappointed) and Holgorsen.  Holgorsen is a jack monkey who seems to enjoy being a jack monkey simply because he can.

And Paul Harvey, God rest his soul, is no longer with us.
Good Day.

Read it again.
Not gonna read it once and yet I have the same knowledge I had before this thread. No news has become news and it is sad.
To add a "sig line" or "signature line": Go to your "profile" then go to "modify profile" then scroll down to where it says "Signature" and type in what you want it to say and then click on "change profile". That's it, you're done. Your sig line will only show up on your first post on each page.

Paul Harvey was just on the Jack Paar Marlboro Sports Show & said finalists are Rockne, Heisman, & Woody Hayes-

Thanks for my chuckle for the day.

Welcome.  I'll be here all week, or until a new coach is hired...or until I get fired for not working because I'm on here all week...

Agreed.  I'd be able to talk booze with him.  Would love to be able to take coeds with him, but I'm fat and have no money.

Why would you get a Leach protege' when you could have Leach?

Well, let me throw four out: Richard Nixon, Vladimir Putin, Fidel Castro and Leonardo DaVinci.  What do you think of those?

jkstock04

When did Holgerson get in the equation? I've actually followed his career at West Virginia and like him as a coach. Not my first choice but that's a hire I would get behind.
Thanks for the F Shack.

I think people would be surprised by the immediate excitement Leach would bring. He's built programs that begin with a competitive disadvantage in their conference. He would do it here and it would be a fun ride for fans. Will be a lot of face palms if we see him hired by a decent school.

Lol.  No kidding!  Why don't we just add half the Pack 12 coaches into the mix.  Yeah, we are narrowing down this search really well...

And he's not a raging a-hole.

Remember when he gave Boykin a high five after a crazy scramble? I've been a fan of Holgo for a while but that was hilarious. Really made me like him more.

QuoteIt still is wide open as to who Arkansas will hire for the vacancy, but at least the school has an AD in place as the search continues.

Now for the REST OF THE STORY: Holgorson= too much baggage and mediocre record.

Before you say "you can't win at West Virginny" remember Rich Rod? Won big there, left and hasn't won big since.

If Norvell is nixed due to some vague "gambling problem" or some such and Holgorson is hired? That would be the height of hypocrisy.

DH got tossed from a casino for being drunk and disorderly. Matter of public record, not a whisper campaign.

I wouldn't be enthusiastic about Morris unless he could deliver Venables. That would make a lot of difference.

Leach would be a good hire, would just be concerned about the total lack of a running game.

Norvell would need a strong staff to placate the GOBN, but count me in.

Holgorson. No. Just no. He'd be a better fit than BB, but the posters who run down Norvell's defense, have you seen WV's?

Hell no to Holgorsen. this guy is 1 more bad season away from being fired at West.VA. some of these names we are hearing is just sad.

I didn't realize that Wazzu's defense is 15th in the nation right now.  That really surprises me.  I think their DC was also a finalist for the Broyles Award today.  Would Leach bring him to Arkansas?  If so, I could warm up to Leach really quick.

When looking at their schedule results, Wazzu got thumped good in 3 losses for some reason, but they also beat some good teams, including USC, Stanford, Oregon and Utah.  Their losses were to Cal, Arizona and UDub.  It looks like Leach is winning the big games, but losing some smaller ones.

They beat USC and Stanford at Wazzu when both teams were injury depleted, especially USC.  They beat oregon when the Ducks were getting killed by everyone before they started playing better late in the year.  And utah just wasn't as good as they normally are.  Just say "no" to Leach.
