PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Adam Davis • Florida
Junior • SS • Fort Myers, Fla.

Led the Gators to a season-opening sweep of Cincinnati by going 7-for-13 (.538) with a team-leading seven runs batted in. Helped turn three double plays for UF on opening night at shortstop after taking over for the graduated Justin Tordi. Delivered a two-run single in the second inning and an RBI double in the third inning of Florida's 10-0 win on Friday. Cranked a two-run homer to left field in the third inning on Saturday to begin the scoring in his team's 10-4 triumph. Finished the weekend with a 3-for-4 effort as the Gators rolled to a 20-4 rout of the Bearcats. Drew two walks, scored twice and had two RBI.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Nick Schmidt • Arkansas
Sophomore • LHP • St. Louis, Mo.

Arkansas sophomore Nick Schmidt (1-0) quickly displaced any notion of a sophomore jinx in his season debut against perennial power Oklahoma State at the Jaguar Invitational in Mobile, Ala. ... the left-hander from St. Louis, Mo., worked the first six innings of the 12th no-hitter in school history ... Schmidt struck out six over six innings and walked three on 87 pitches ... junior RHP Brian McLelland and senior LHP Devin Collis combined with Schmidt for the no-hitter ... it was the first time in 71-years of recorded baseball at Oklahoma State the Cowboys had been without a hit.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Jarred Bogany • LSU
CF • Houston Texas

Bogany enjoyed a magnificent collegiate debut, leading LSU to a series victory over North Florida . . . he hit .727 (8-for-11) in the series with two doubles, two RBI, two runs and one stolen base . . . he also made a spectacular catch in Game 1 to rob a UNF batter of an extra-base hit . . . Bogany, a true freshman, was the 15th round selection of the Pittsburgh Pirates in last summer's Major League draft.
