I've heard this around the way, and maybe you have too:

WWE currently has plans to take the brand extension...   international.
They are wanting to create several brands and assign them exclusive territories in the global market.

I read about it as well. Supposedly the WWE intends to use 3 of the "Big 9" (HHH, HBK, Cena, Orton, Edge, Undertaker, Mysterio, Lashley, & Batista) in various international markets to help break into the markets.

Supposedly, we in America won't be watching much of the international flavor like what we already do. They'll just be expected to create a more global image that can help sustain them in multiple markets.

Pretty risky strategy, but definetly necessary to attract better world-wide talent. Plus, we should all fully realize that the WWE's American market will always retain the best in the business. if it helps the overall product to bring in better characters, I'm down with it. Having an actual Samoan badass instead of Jamal from East L.A. would defeinetly be an upgrade.

It will take some time to produce positively for us viewers in America, but if they'll make smart moves (something the WWE doesn't always do) then I think it's gonna help.

I used to argue with HA about how Pel ran the basketball team.  I've since learned to like and respect him.  In fact, I'd go as far to say that HA is well connected or extremely perceptive. - Porkatarian, 11/7/12

I live in Western Europe, and every time the WWE tries to come to a UK or Irish venue, they not only sell out, but the demand is so high that tickets will go for up to 8 times the face value from scalpers.

They could easily get a very viable UK/Ireland brand going, giving the leadership to some of the older 'Brit' wrestlers.  The talent doesn't have to be overwhelming to generate a ton of interest.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Pretty risky indeed.

I could see the WWE doing well in Europe and MAYBE Asia or Australia.
But places like Japan and Latin America have a very distinct style. I think the way they will win over other markets is by the spectacle-  Bigger stage, more pyro, and better television production. The style of the WWE talent will not win over other markets on their own. A lot of the talent in those markets now have already worked for the WWE and the fans still go crazy for them for that reason, but I think what WWE is good at is absorbing other styles and making it their own.
I mean, instead of taking talent from around the world and selling it to Americans. They will be taking American style and selling it around the world. Very risky, indeed.
