QuoteHere is your primer for Saturday's game between No. 7 Georgia and Tennessee.

Kickoff time: 3:30 p.m.

TV: CBS (Brad Nessler, Gary Danielson, Allie LaForce)

Betting line: Georgia -7

Georgia coaches: Head coach Kirby Smart, offensive coordinator Jim Chaney, defensive coordinator Mel Tucker, special teams coordinator Shane Beamer.

Tennessee coaches: Head coach Butch Jones, offensive coordinator Larry Scott, defensive coordinator Bob Shoop, special teams coordinator Charlton Warren.

Series history: It has been a fairly even rivalry over the years, with the Volunteers holding a slight 23-21-2 all-time advantage.

Last meeting: Georgia lost to Tennessee in a heart-breaker last season, with Joshua Dobbs tossing a 43-yard desperation touchdown pass to Jauan Jennings as  time expired.

Georgia's season thus far: Georgia (4-0, 1-0 SEC) has looked the part of being the SEC East favorite.

Tennessee's season thus far: Tennessee (3-1, 0-1) is a desperation touchdown pass away from being undefeated.

What a win means for Georgia: Georgia hasn't been 5-0 since 2012. So, yeah, that would be a big deal.

What a win means for Tennessee: A lot of negativity is surrounding the Tennessee program. A win over Georgia would be huge for Jones and his staff, to at least change the narrative of what has been a dysfunctional start to the Volunteers' season.

If it happens, 45-0 would be Tennessee's worst loss to Georgia in series history.

Yikes. This Tennessee vs. Georgia game is so bad that Vols fans are fighting each other in the stands... https://trib.al/A6hrzxM

UGA Report Card: Is it possible to score higher than an A?

QuoteKNOXVILLE – Last week I wrote that it'd be hard to imagine Georgia playing any better than it did against Mississippi State. Well, the Bulldogs played better against Tennessee and this week's report card bears that out.

A lot better.

I told folks if GA got a better coach they would be dangerous.!
If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

I've been thinking long and hard about this, and I think I found one bit of good news for the #Vols today.

No one "fell on a helmet." Yet.

CBJ announced that DT Shy Tuttle injured his face by "falling on a helmet". Reporters were skeptical.

Vols blown out by Georgia, and Butch Jones is in trouble

QuoteKNOXVILLE — Second-year Georgia coach Kirby Smart and his true freshman quarterback just came to Neyland Stadium and put a 41-0 beating on fifth-year Tennessee coach Butch Jones and his junior quarterback, a clear indication of where both outfits are heading.

The No. 8 Bulldogs are headed toward Atlanta. Georgia (5-0, 2-0 SEC) is the second-best team in the league and might even be able to stay within 14 points or so of No. 1 Alabama in the title game. The Vols are headed toward a coaching change.

And please understand, this is not a call for Jones to be fired now. His team is 3-2 with losses to Florida and Georgia and a lot of season left to play. This is simply a guess, but it's well-educated by now: The Vols have several more losses in them.

More than athletic director John Currie, who was smiling and shaking hands in the press box before Saturday's ugliness, will be able to brush off. More than Vols fans, who created a terrific atmosphere and then let out justifiable boos with their team down 24-0 at halftime, will be able to stand.

Vantage 8 dude

Watched the game in its entirety and came away with the following impressions:

First, it's rather obvious that UGA has a very salty defense. Kirby obviously has both the talent, experience (something like 80% or more of the starters are juniors or seniors-mostly the latter) and depth to come close to matching 'Bama's at this point.

Secondly, their offense is extremely potent. Then again with their depth at RB that was expected. Appears their situation at QB is also set with two kids who could easily start for many SEC teams.

Third, the Vols STINK, totally STINK, when it comes to the offensive side of the ball. Their offensive line is a mess, could even make the Hog's appear like all-stars, and they have absolutely no clue when it comes to the QB position. While I figured they'd be hurting over Dobb's graduating, I also felt they might have someone at least have way ready to take his place. At this point they don't have a clue. Their situation doesn't appear much better at running back either. When facing a truly good defensive line they couldn't make much head way. And while the the UT defense gave a fairly good account of itself for much of the first half, the "butt fumble" by the Vol center just took whatever fight they had right out of them.

Forth, and lastly, ole Butch really put himself in a bind last week when he jumped on the press about all the negativity being printed/said about the program. While I understand his reasoning, to play such a pathetic game after the horrible struggle against a clearly BAD UMass team doesn't bode well. Something major is going to have to change and QUICK or else he very could end up losing this team for the rest of the season. Then again, I personally could care less.

Hard to believe that Tennessee just had its worst loss in Neyland Stadium history. This team has issues, but none of them should cause that.
