No one has tweeted anything about it, nor has the university said anything on him.
That's just what 247 showed so who knows.

I think, but can't seem to find it, that some place we were told that he just didn't have the motor or mean streak.  Now, since i can't find that don't run with it as fact.  I'm all for it though.  I think at some point you have to try it.  You can't tell me there isn't one TE in the room that wouldn't jump for the opportunity to rush the passer 10-15 times a game even if he is a specialist only.
Heard on DTS they said he wasn't tough enough. Same thing was said about Damon Mitchell. Didn't want to play D because he didn't want to hit, and then he starts knocking folks out on kick returns. In junior high, I wasn't mean either. So the coaches started verbally humiliating me everyday in practice while making me run scout team against a guy twice my size. I turned out pretty mean by my JR year. That's called coaching.

I remember Bielema saying Mitchell's decision was completely Mitchell's.  They tried to get him to play some safety in either the spring or fall camp and he tried to because they asked but really wanted on the offensive side of hte ball.  Never heard them say it was a tough thing with him although I can see people drawing that conclusion.  But Mitchell proved that isn't it.

I am waiting on the university to say something but 247 is showing that he signed.

He hasn't signed if the university hasn't said anything. That's just Otis getting the cart before the horse.

I think originally he was suppose to sign around 3ish.

Thanks for the clarification.  I was thinking that could be the case of trying to be the first to report it.

So one big hit on one KO return means he would have been great on defense but the coaches blew it. Again. Boy you got this player development down pat.

I've mentioned it a few times and was blasted early on for it, but for some reason I think Gragg if we would have early enough in his career would have been a great OT.  I think it is too late in his college career though to make that move.

For some reason the defensive staff just doesn't like Bell on Defense.  I'm not sure why though.

Coaches tried to get Mitchell to play safety he wouldn't. CBB mentioned when he switched to WR and after the hit vs Florida.

Duwop is the one that really missed it

Yep Bielema has mentioned it several times. Duwop didn't want to do it. If I were him I would go down a level and try to play both ways. Do anything to get enough tape to draw NFL interest

he could have been a great safety, too. i said it for years and then he had the hit of the season. Dang. Didn't want to be the next great Arkansas safety. That's just odd.

Exactly.  Which is why I meant it's too late in his college career to make that move and see the dividends while still in college.

Some kids aren't wired to want to hit. Those that want to knock you out every play are a different breed.

He had a couple more big hits just not as big as the Florida hit. Plus he looks like 220 pounds of muscle. But never playing any significant snaps was truly the better choice on his part. You're right. He probably would have sucked as a rover type of player giving run support, blitzing and such.

Well Coley is a big hitter too, not a sure thing he would have been great at anything else

I don't think they can say anything until they receive the faxed Financial Agreement. I'm searching for the tweet, but this was from someone that was at the ceremony.

Man, what a huge signing!

ShadowTheHedgehog

With the returning talent at WR and TE, the ref-shirts, and these new kids we are puling in, we are going to be in good shape at those positions for the next couple of years.
QBs, and RBs seems pretty solid as well. If we can get the line to gel the O should be rolling.

I hope they can get the D figured out, could be a good 2017.

imtad16

I wonder if Martin and/or Nance make it into the next season of Last Chance U?

imtad16

Actually, I just looked and Miss Gulf Coast played East Miss twice and Martin was DNP in both and I guess Nance might but he had 3 catches 26 yards and was DNP in the last game against them.

NotSoFastMyFriend

Big player. Big talent. Like a bigger, faster Keon and that's not a knock on Hatcher, a player who stands to make an NFL roster into next September.
