Happy he committed not happy he's signing tmrw. Just more time for people to get in his ear about other schools. (Ala Putu, Cleveland and it appears Edwards)

That's a big time get. He'll be on the field immediately.

Wow!  Way to take a positive and turn it into a negative - randomly.

Strange comment.
I was responding to trphog's comment. What I said is true. The 2017 offense could be very good ..... but if the defense doesn't get better, it won't make any difference. Defense wins championships, and right now, I'm sad to say, Arkansas has zero defense.

You expect to win the championship next year?

We could sign some defense and try.

I usually cringe at comparisons like this but at least this guy has the offer list to back up such lofty dreams.

jgphillips3

Big time receiver.  He will be awesome in Enos system.  Big enough to go over the middle, fight for 50/50 balls, good red zone target at that size and enough speed to get deep.  Great option for AA to have next year.

To quote Dustin Hoffman's Native American grandfather in LITTLE BIG MAN, this news "makes my heart soar like a hawk."

I've avoided the recruiting forum for a while since I have not been a huge fan of this recruiting class - though I think it have gotten better - but this is just such a great pick up. I have been so depressed over the years seeing athletic freaks of nature like Martin toy with coming to Arkansas only to stay home or go to another program. Great, great, great to see him come to Fayetteville.

Uh, has he passed Algebra? I swear, if we lose either him or Patton due to Algebra, I'm going to permanently ignore juco recruiting until the players actually enroll in classes.

First thing I saw when I logged in today. Huge get. All the wideouts we have leaving this year he knows he will play with a 5th year senior QB in Dan Enos system; smart choice.

Funny. Hardly any mention of Martin (relatively speaking) because we just knew he was headed to Auburn or LSU.

Welcome aboard!
I am a Hog fan. I was long before my name was etched, twice, on the sidewalks on the Hill. I will be long after Sam Pittman and Eric Mussleman are coaches, and Hunter Yuracheck is AD. I am a Hog fan when we win, when we lose and when we don't play. I love hearing the UA band play the National Anthem on game day, but I sing along to the Alma Mater. Yes...Jordan Jones and Devone McClure will be there too. Don't be surprised to see TJ Hammonds move to WR as well! With the Hogs signing Chase hayden and Maleek Williams, they will be loaded at RB in 2017.

Don't forget Keith Jackson son he looks to be a player too coming next year

Beilema might actually have the luxury of redshirting Koilan Jackson because of the receiver depth...unless he comes in and wows the coaches and they can't redshirt him because of his talent level.

Is this right? If so, great. I haven't seen that anywhere.

The depth on offense minus the OL is really good.  The best that I can remember.  It appears they are trying to get the OL built up more.  Which next year they should have the highest number of OL on scholarship since they have been here.  Now only if they can get the same depth on defense.  The LB depth appears to be improving with last year's class and hopefully this year as well.

Hollywood870

Haven't signed a physical talented receiver like this since Boo Williams, who turned out to be more of a H-Back and played several years in the NFL. This is an SEC pedigree receiver. I compare him to Eric Moulds from MSU and the Buffalo Bills from about a decade ago. We need more of these up and down the roster. I think D. Harris the LB will be the same kind of player. Agim, Patton, Montaric Brown, Calloway. Needs. We got needs.

I'm optimistic about the O-Line as long as Ragnow comes back. Still believe in Frodholdt. You know he's got talent. Now has a year of SEC brutalization under his belt, is strong and has that build of an old time Nebraska guard. Gibson back, Wallace improved. Wish the light would come on for Merrick. Rodgers at backup, Raulerson and the Redshirts providing depth.

Hollywood870

This offense has the chance to be the best we've seen in a while. Now if we could get some solid special teams and defense we could be a dark horse. Does anyone disagree? What if some of the redshirts have actually developed? Dee Walker at OLB. I loved his film. Didn't we redshirt another corner? Guidry, Deon Edwards, Marshall on D-Line. Redshirts have to be ready to step in this year on D. I really believe we can post a solid 10-3 season. Hoping Orgeron goes back to old form of course and we get Aubbie at home. Don't think this is an un-realistic expectation.

One more thing, has Martin officially signed yet or does LSU still have time to swoop in with the latest heartbreak devastation?

I've mentioned it a few times and was blasted early on for it, but for some reason I think Gragg if we would have early enough in his career would have been a great OT.  I think it is too late in his college career though to make that move.

For some reason the defensive staff just doesn't like Bell on Defense.  I'm not sure why though.

Which tells us he hasn't signed.  They will be releasing something like they did with nance as soon as they can.

We seemed to be getting a little Petrino -esque with hoarding a lot of talent on offense while the defense suffers. We need a 6'6 de with speed coming off the edge and blasting QB's in the back. They turned Jamal Anderson into one from a wr. DO IT. We have 10 other quality TE's. Do we need another Sprinkle like TE catching 33 balls when we are already stockpiled or do we need a pass rusher?

I think, but can't seem to find it, that some place we were told that he just didn't have the motor or mean streak.  Now, since i can't find that don't run with it as fact.  I'm all for it though.  I think at some point you have to try it.  You can't tell me there isn't one TE in the room that wouldn't jump for the opportunity to rush the passer 10-15 times a game even if he is a specialist only.
