That would certainly do it until Auburn loses a game next season. That would be clear evidence he couldn't maintain the success.

It would be great drama to see what they would do if Gus win's Iron Bowl and SEC championship by beating UGA but then loses to Bama in playoff! They would probably finish in top 5 and >50% of fans would call for him to be fired!

What Gus should do if he beats Bama and then Georgia again is simply leave them at the alter and come home at that point. Let Auburn figure out what to do next.

Gus came to Auburn from Arkansas State and despite his OC success at Auburn previously, was not considered a home run hit. He will never be more than one average to poor year away from possibly being fired.

Gus beat Saban two years ago on that freak final play, but Auburn threatens to fire him every year unless he can beat both Alabama and LSU.  Gus is sick of it.

I don't see bama getting in the top 4 if they lose the iron bowl. If that were to happen i'd assume the SEC rep in the playoffs would be aubbie/georgia. I may be wrong because it's happened before (bama/lsu) but i'd be surprised.

Maybe if bama loses a close one to aubbie who beats georgia and wisconsin loses to osu to knock them back down....maybe?
