Over the years the Smites/Karma have come and gone. I personally feel its high schoolish and we really don't need them.  If it is like the past soon they will be turned back on and we can go at it again.

Well said, Camden Hogfan.  Too many times I've posted something that was not really smitable or worthy of applause (not giving an opinion), and get a couple of smites.  After getting the smites I will keep checking, waiting for someone to post a reply to my post, and they don't.  Not having the karma feature is great.

I don't really have a dog in this hunt, 'cause I don't care if the 'karma' feature is on or off.

But it would have been a better (as in...courteous) board policy to announce the change (if that's what it is...a change)...than to just chew out anyone who asks.
