Ed Orgeron will face a hotter seat in 2018, according to the Sporting News' Bill Bender.

    LSU has a nasty schedule too, including a neutral site game against Miami and trip to Auburn in the first three weeks. October features crossover games against Florida and Georgia. All that comes before tough games against Mississippi State, Alabama and Texas A&M. Assuming the other five games are wins, how many of those seven games mentioned do you think the Tigers win?

Recently, SEC Network analyst Paul Finebaum told SEC Country that Orgeron faces the conference's hottest seat this year.

CBS writer lists Derek Mason as coach on hot seat entering 2018 season

Derek Mason has done some good things during his time at Vanderbilt, including leading the Commodores to a bowl game, defeating rival Tennessee twice and upsetting Georgia in Athens in 2016.

That isn't enough, according to CBS college football writer Tom Fornelli, who lists Mason as one of the five coaches who enter the 2018 season on the hot seat.

"I don't want to say it's "bowl game or bust" for Mason in 2018, as he did receive a contract extension recently, but if there isn't a noticeable step forward in Year 5, then Vanderbilt could look to make a change."

Mason's overall record of 18-31, including a horrific 6-26 in SEC play, would have many conference coaches already fired or in need of a huge season to keep his job, but Vanderbilt is a different animal when it comes to expectations. Making a bowl game in 2016 earned Mason a contract extension in May 2017, and a two-game winning streak over the Volunteers will keep the Commodores fan base happy for now.

Mason, in comparison, is doing better at Vandy in SEC games than Bret did at UA.  I can't believe they won't give him a few more years.  Franklin would have done better possibly but he chose to leave. 

Orgeron has to be the only real hot seat in the sec for a couple of years
