Is this the same SEC Country that reported earlier that Arkansas is hosting LSU at 11 for homecoming?

bp
Yes. But they corrected their story after several people pointed it out to them.

Those suggesting Petrino leaves Louisville this year are on to something. He wants out before the program collapses (again). Florida, Tennessee, A&M, Auburn. Lots of schools that seem to have no problem taking him on, and then others who might consider it given that he is a successful coach.
I don't think Petrino has ever stayed at a program longer than 4 years

Petrino is going to be lucky if he doesn't get fired. There isn't going to be any bidding war for him anytime soon. How excited do you think a fan base would be if they hired a 5-4 Louisville coach who can't beat Wake Forest with the reigning Heisman quarterback

He would have stayed here longer, perhaps forever, if Mr. Integrity had not stupidly promoted himself at the expense of the lightning in a bottle #5 Arkansas had going and fired him.

He's a damn good coach but most around here only go by this year and game to game at that.

He's had 4 winning seasons out of 7 and is 45-49, coached one bowl and lost.

He took over Western Kentucky and South Florida. Both programs were bad when he got there but in a much better place when he left. Taggart is big time in Florida. I hope he stays away from the SEC. There's a reason Taggart is at Oregon.

Plus, Petrino can't field a defense to save his life. Florida would do much better if they hired Strong.
Quote from: mckinneyhog5 on April 07, 2019, 10:29:55 pmGuys, we have hired the BEST coach that we could have hired. Musselman is gonna rock it here like we haven't seen since the early 90's. Just sit back and watch it unfold! We WILL be a nationally recognized program again soon.

I don't think that is quite up to Florida standards. Why they would even mention this guy makes no sense.

Man, I'd hate to see Petrino go to any school where recruits grew on trees and where just 4 & 5 star guys are everywhere in the backyard. Since Petrino hated recruiting and at a school like say Florida, texas, lsu, etc where highly rated recruits already want to come , man that would be trouble! That ain't no joke either. If Petrino landed the Florida job, wow, it would be trouble for everyone in the SEC. He'd have that place rolling as strong as it was back when spurrier was coaching the Fun & Gun offense. Very bad news! But, who knows. Maybe he won't
Basketball is back, baseball always, football was a dumpster fire once again..... but as the phoenix rose from the ashes, BMF Petrino has risen again!!! Lots to look forward to.

As the rain falls, I realize, that some where out there, some one, is wearing a mask while they shower............

Because he's a big-time coaching talent apparently.

Petrino would get enough of a defense at Florida. Haven't they had trouble finding offense under the Swamp Donkey? I look for them to hire an offensive minded coach.

Taggart has deep FLA recruiting ties
The head coach at UF doesn't need recruiting ties! It's Florida! He would never have to leave the state to recruit if he didn't want to!

It is a safe hire and that is what Florida needs at this time.

The ultimate irony in Bielema's tenure is that his best defenses were made up of Petrino recruits.

Yep, it's not a coincidence that Bielema's defenses tanked after Petrino's recruits left the team.

Huge mistake if they hire Taggart and doesn't make much sense IMO. Makes me think maybe they see having diversity would help recruit. Maybe not, just trying to figure that one out.

Guarantee it's no more than perfunctory compliance with the universities diversity hiring rules.

Taggart won't get a second interview and the first will probably be by telephone. Taggart's a good coach, but he will be deemed not ready yet.

I would wager that Florida, on this round, will hire a proven head coach, with substantial experience.

They've wasted lots of time and money on "up and comers" with not much to show for their efforts.

No way man. You dont think randy shannon at least gets an interview? There may be genuine interest in Taggard, but thay doesnt mean he is the only candidate and its certainly not just because of his skin color.

He's matching wits with P5 coaching staffs for the first time in his career. So far he's doing OK at it but the jury is still out on whether he's a big time coaching talent. The win over Utah last week was impressive.

Looking at his resume, he did turn WKU and South Florida around. He made progress each year. He is from Florida and seems to be respected down there. I think Florida could do worse.

Yep I would be worried it they got Taggart.
If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

That's what I would do...hire a coach whose Oregon team is 5-4 for the season and may end up 6-6. I doubt Florida will go this direction. Anyone know what Taggart's buy-out is at Oregon?

They can do better than Taggert. I'd go for Mullen if I were them.

UF just put this out to goad UT into making Taggart an offer.

I don't know why everyone is up Mullen's butt. Here is his coaching record in the SEC.
